Does this timeline makes sense, based on what we know about the story? (Im assuming Terra is 18 years old in the beginning of the game cause that's what the SNES strategy guide said).
Year 0 = War of the Magi Year 1000 = Final Fantasy vi (these are just fictional years to make it easy...it has nothing to do with the real middle ages) Ghestal rises to power - 975 (made up) Terra is born – 980 Ghestal breaks into Sealed Cave – 982 Esper discovered in Narshe – 998 Celes wakes up in world of ruin – 999 This post has been edited by because555 on 30th June 2006 11:34 -------------------- I'VE HAD AN ETERNITY TO PONDER THE MEANING OF THINGS. Not really... you're saying that the game starts at the year 1000, right? Doesn't it start with the discovery of the esper in Narshe? So then it would be:
Ghestal rises to power - 975 Terra is born – 982 Ghestal breaks into Sealed Cave – 984 Esper discovered in Narshe – 1000 Celes wakes up in world of ruin – 1001 -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

I didnt use the year 1000 as an exact number...just showing that the war happened about 1000 years ago

I've seen this done elsewhere more convincingly, I'm afraid - in fact, if you search hard enough it might have been posted at CoN before.

There was a member here for a brief period of time called Shiva Indis who made a timeline based on Japanese books she'd acquired. She went to lengths to translate and put the information together herself. Here's the timeline she came up with:

I always considered the year "Zero" to be when Kefka destroys the world. The War of the Magi happened in 1000 BC, and the WOR events happened in 1 AC. (The "C" stands for Collapse). -CSM
