This is clouds ultima weapon from FFVII, I started it a few days ago, so i decided to post it here at the caves. Let me know what you think.





To be honest i think it needs some work

I really like the color on the blade. However I think it could afford to be longer. And you have really good detail everywhere, except the handle looks a bit 2D-ish compared to the rest of it. Other than that...awesome! I have no room to say anything because I can't do crap on computers Never tried!

That's pretty good, but hardly pixel art once you start using filters.

I second Reno's post. The blade is too short. You might want to thicken the crosspiece a bit too - those bits on the sides look like they're holding on by a thread.

that is my main emphasis the blade looks 3-d while the handle just goes straight to 2d
looks good though. I want to see the revised version.

I think you got that it's a bit short so I'll just mention that I think the blade should have a bit more white to it.......unless there is more white and it's just that it's on a white background and so I can't tell

Silverlance, those "bits on the sides" are connected to the blade itself. And what did you been by "hardly pixel art once you start using filters" i really don't know what you mean (i'm kind of stupid y'know). Anyway i mest with the odd handgard and the handle, got rid of the wierd stuff in the middle and shaded it a bit.

Kane, i made it a bit longer and put in a red background

Pixel art is made without the use of filter effects, like the smoothing you used on the blade (unless, of course, that's actually hand-drawn; ignore this in that case )

Well, semantics shemantics, art is art.

I'd suggest a less contrasting BG. Your sword is mostly blueish in color but the BG is red - two badly contrasting colors that really hurt the eyes. Judging from the blur on the crosspiece, your sword appears to have been designed to work with a pale BG, perhaps white or very light blue/grey.

I still say the blade's too short, personally. IMO it should be MUCH longer, not just a few pixels more. Just my thoughts.

I liked that. Very detailed and far better than what I can do. You should make the blade a bit more longer, like what Silverlance said.

I'd love to see HardEdge.

Are you sure that blade was lenghtened? It seems the exact same size to me... >"<;; The original's blade is at least 3-4 times longer than the handle.

You might want to pick a lighter BG. The edges of the crosspiece are obviously made for a white BG, unless there's like... white foam around it or something.

Looking pretty sexily there, my friend. IIRC, the weak version had a navy blue blade. I'm sure it wasn't purple.. Good work so far all you gotta do now is lenghten the blades 7 more pixels to the right and you've completed Ultima Weapon! Btw you should do a diagonal version. I dig those even more than 90 degree views.

It was actually transparent. In this case, wouldn't the blade look a bit more greenish?

It actoully should be more transparent but i did it on a white BG the first time and didn't think of changing the blade aswell.

It's really good! Only thing I could say is that in-game it's a lighter purple and a bit rounder, but I like the color here better

Nice picture. the first one looks cool but like others have said, the handle is a bit 2d-ish. but anyway it's a good picture.

I think it looks very good. I echo the comments on background and blade length, though.

Okay heres my latest improvement, i touched up the handle and handguard and made the blade a bit longer.

Nice job. The only thing I noticed is that the handle looks a little scrawny.

The blade looks really good. And the red tassle things sticking out look good. The handle looks a lot less 2-Dish, but yeah it does need a bit of beefing up. Where the tang would be still looks kinda flat. Good job!
