If you don't think you can take Doom with that party, Warp out so you can use other people. You'll have to fight your way back, but eh.
How many times have you fought Doom anyway? -------------------- |

You should at least try. You'd be surprised. Personally, I'd warp out anyway and put Strago in each different team so he can learn all the Statues' Lores, but that's just me.
If you didn't defeat them, then yes, you'd have to fight them if you warp out and re-enter. -------------------- |

Try it.
Doom isn't that bad of a fight. And if you're just getting by with Vanish/X-zone... let's just say that's not a particularly skillful move. And you are never screwed, my friend. People have beaten Doom at level 7+. Just duke it out, y'never know. -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention. I say that you level up those characters more or just put one weak person in each party. Don't have a whole party of 'em. Balance.

This game can be beaten without levelling up (if you know a few strategies - of course you can default to the cheap vanish/doom trick but that's cheating when doing a low-level or no-exp game...) So frankly, it's unlikely that you'd be in too much of a bind unless you're deliberately trying to make life difficult for yourself.
Like has been mentionned before, you can warp out and switch parties. Bosses stay dead - technically you can do the entire tower with just one party doing any fighting. Technically. There's only one moogle charm to go around, and three parties to take care of. But the point stands. Stop being so cowardly and try the fight. If you lose, unless you haven't saved at all since starting the game, you can just reload. It's just a game, really... It's surprising anyone would ask something like this without having tried at all - almost like a plea for attention. I'm not implying it, mind you, so please don't misunderstand; I'm not trying to offend you, just saying, try the damned fight and see how it goes. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Yeah. Try it and you'll be suprised. I hear that Kefka can be beaten in three rounds with a souped-up party, so Doom can't be that bad.
And real men don't vanish/x-zone ![]() -------------------- |

And I only use Vanish/X-zone on Whats-his-face (rexsoul?) in Cyan's dream... only because I hate the entire fight and how he loves vanishing right before I kill him. Yeah, I need some help too... and this is going to sound like a really stupid question. I just started going through the games in order, and this is the only problem I've had so far. Haha.
I'm not that far in (where the walkthrough labels as 13), just at the second time I reached Narshe, and am about to fight Kefka. The problem is that I don't know the proper technique for splitting the parties into three groups. Everytime it seems as if I've placed them into three groups I try to leave the screen and the game won't let me. |

Get the good equip of your other parties, use moogle charm to get closer to the beggining of tower back row and level, the fights will be long but if you have any cure magic use the econimizer and if not i use strago with genji glove and two heal rods for healing in battle but you mihgt wanna use relm since she is less useful fighting, also find out the monster weakness's and equip the apropriate weapons and get magic as soon as possible.
