Ok, I'm starting a new thread about Suikoden V because I just recently finished it and I want to talk about it. I would have revived the old thread but I searched for it under the title "Suikoden V" and didn't find it. Anyway.........here goes.......
I did not get all 108 stars and that's my first talking point. With most games, I buy the strategy guide if I know that there's a lot of collecting of items, characters, and etc invovled. The Suikoden IV guide was pretty thorough and I was able to get all 108 there but V's guide seriously sucked. No maps and it literally told me the absolute wrong way to get characters. Because of this I missed out in a missable character that you only have a certain amount of time to get which made me miss out on other characters that I needed him to get. So, if you're a guide user, just use the FAQ online because the Brady Games guide doesn't give you any more or correct info than the FAQ at gamefaqs.com. In fact, I think it gives you less. So because of this I got the bad ending in which evens happend that made me cry. I cried because in the bad ending Possible spoilers: highlight to view Lyon dies My playing saved playing time after the ending credits was 85:04:55 which is a lot. I spent a lot of time having to hunt for money and armor and items and stuff so I could have 18 good characters twice in the game. I don't consider that a spoiler but helpful advice. There are tow moments in the game in which you have to have 3 parties of at most 6 characters each (it is recommended to have all 6). I also spent a lot of time jumping through hoops trying to collect characters the wrong way. I liked the game a lot. Here is how I would rank the series though: 1. Suikoden III (I'm alone in ranking this here I know because many people didn't like it.) 2. Suikoden II 3. Suikoen I 4. Suikoden V 5. Suikoden IV 6. Suikoden Tactics. That's all I can think about to say for the moment because I don't have any more time to type. If anyone has any more questions about the game, don't hesitate to ask. -------------------- Elena Indurain Currently Playing: Suikoden II |
