Well I got Final Fantasy VII (again after I acidently broke my old one).
Final Fantasy VII is my favourite and has always been my favourite and since I hadn't played the game in about 3 years it was cool to have it again. So when I got it I put the disc in, got my controller used the remote, started the game and then...It happend. I suddenly couldn't be botherd to play it! I thought I was just in a tired mood, so I waited till the next day...still nothing. Now it has been 5 weeks and I still can't play it! Is there something wrong with me? I pray now...am I losing interest in Final Fantasy!?!? NO...that can't be it....can it? WHATS WRONG WITH ME!?!?! This sounds just like the slump i was in a little while ago with video games in general...then again, i was also depressed at the time since i was "dumped" by a girl i really liked, but anyway...
What started me back up was the arrival of many new games with great soundtracks and graphics, like Kingdom Hearts II, and so when i got FFVII again as the original version off ebay, the game with newer graphics and stuff inspired me to play the older classic, such as final fantasy I, IV, V, and VI. In conclusion, get away and take a break from gaming RPG's or all games in general. In lamens terms (kinda), youre Gaming MP has run out, and you must drink the ether of life itself to revive your passion for gaming! Same thing happened to me. I suggest looking up random FF7 stuff on the internet. It worked for me, plus that was when I learned what "Zeno gias" in Cloud's coma was.

I've done the same thing. I'll go through moments of not wanting to play any given game for no real rhyme or reason other than I don't feel like it. A few years ago I went through over a year and half without playin' video games before I started up again. Lately I've been primarily playin' my FF games and I'm strongly considerin' startin' MK: Deception again; haven't played that one in quite a while, now.

First i like ZSNES/PS but then i get interested in another game but then ud ie or someting! So then you decide to play ZSNES/PS game or w/e Console u have and it keeps on repeating! Happens to me all the time. And FF7 kinda lost its intrest cus i hate not-getting enough BP in the Gold Saucer -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. Reminds me of you, death knight. This sort of thing happens to all of us at different times. It usually happens to me after doing an annoying sidequest type activity, i.e. chocobo breeding...........
Just give it some time and before you know it you'll be back to your old habits |

Man... three words.
It's a game. Maybe you've realized there's more interesting stuff than a game in life, and you've started finding yourself drawn to other things. ![]() Could also just be a general lack of interest after having played it so much... -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Welcome back to the real world, buddy.
In all seriousness, I've personally experienced that any obsession with/addiction to a videogame or series of games does decrease to manageable levels when I don't play it for a while, or if I've finished it and have nothing more to do with it. I stopped having Castlevania music flowing almost continuously through my mind when I stopped playing it every other day, for example. You may be becoming bored with the game, given that you've played it before. I know that I personally easily become bored with a game that I've experienced mainly for the story, and FFVII is VERY story-heavy. Nah nah nah mate. You can't seriously be bored with FF. What you need to do is set a challenge this time you play it. Try a no materia, single character, initial equip game. This changes your view of the game as you have to rely on limits and items. Also it makes the game REALLY fun because you might actually lose a fight.

this happened to me too. all you need to do is find something that you specifically want to look for in the game. I was bored of the game for a while (shocking...I love thi game), but I was helpign a friend out in one part, and I discovered alot of allusions in the game, so i started playing again to see if they sort of affect who the characters are, and define the parts of the game... (btw, I'm an IB nerd...for those who know what that is, you'll understand why i do things like this)

I play FFVII every thanksgiving, or atleast up to last year, where I couldnt finish the game, I had no desire to go through it, plus, being in the military my patience is shot and the last thing I want to do with the rare time that Im not at sea is sit through random battles killing all kinds of beasties with one whack of the buster sword. I'd rather buy one of those facsimile buster swords from the net and attack random dogs and cats, it'd be more entertaining and fulfilling.
This is the reason Im looking forward to these spinoffs. I still love the characters and universe, but Im in dire need of new gameplay and new material. Street Fighter, however, I still compact into rock form and smoke it from glass pipes. Im an addict. -------------------- Feeling unknown And youre all alone Flesh and bone By the telephone Lift up the receiver Ill make you a believer |

I should clarify my above statement, i was a little hopped up on caffiene when i wrote it. Basically, look for something you are interested in, and examine it through the game, if you're into things like that.
ex. I absolutely love relgious allusions in media, so i went thorough a replay of the game, and discovered many things through research and playthroughs. it gives an interesting insight on the game -------------------- "Everyone's on the ride of their life, for some it's just scarier than for others..." All that happened was it that you're VIIed out (or you've become like me and can't play videogames that much, I usually on play games on sunday now) but I think you should just play through FFT or do a LLG for FFVI or even an SCC for FFV, after doing that you'll probably be able to play vii again.

Just play a different RPG, or do a challenge, or something. Or better yet, just take a break. Happens to me when I've played out all the games I currently have, and then I just stop until I get my interest heated up again with a new game or series. Meh.

That's happining to me in Fire Emblem Geneaology of the Holy War. I was about 3/4 complete with Chapter 2, and I realized that I screwed up so badly that I would be able to get Fury without losing Arden. For those of you that have played this, you realize that the chapters are uber long. I'm just gonna take a break, and come back to it

I can see why you dont want to play it. I get it at times.
When the game first came out, I think I was 13. I started eagerly playing it, hoping for it to be as magical as Final Fantasys II and III that my borhter and sister and I watched my oldest brother beat (mainly II though. At my brother's wedding, I addressed him as cecil). For the first 20 hours or so, it was. Then, disk 1 ended. I was heart broken. Possible spoilers: highlight to view I had seen people die before in RPGs, but seeing aeris get stabbed in its CG glory was too much. From then on, the plot was just too dark. I just couldent play. My solution? I replayed FFII. After that, I was ready to go back and kill sepheroth. -------------------- Can you pull down the dawn? Something of the sort happened to me too. I just didn't feel like playing any video games at all. Then IT happened. I got Radiata Stories for Christmas. It renewed my love for video games. I'm going to recommend some games that renew your love of RPG's. Radiata Stories, Skies of Arcadia, Tales of Symphonia (or any Tales game), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II,and Paper Mario.

i think it happens to everyone. ill play ff for weeks straight and then get bored with it and go back into the world of reality. but soon enough i realize that reality sucks serious butt and i need something to give me hope that life is better. so yes don't fret cause you'll realize ff is better than life itself.
