Quote (Bas @ 1st September 2009 09:48) FF 8 = VIII, not XIII FF 6 = VI, not XI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_numerals ![]() This isn't mean in a bad mode, but it won't harm to know those numbers, they are appearing everywhere. And this should have been PMed, it's a spam post as it is. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

This list is mostly FFIX characters. Writing this feels exactly like writing report cards for school students.
10 - Vivi - FFIX He's a great character. His story is about growing up and death, and Vivi is the kind of innocent little fighter that really makes me care about what he goes through. Not really an impact character, however. 9 - Locke - FFVI FFVI characters suffer because they don't seem to recognise the others in the group, and most don't even talk to each other. FFVI is better for overall development rather than the individual success of one character. Locke is lucky because he starts early. Anyway, he looks like a gypsy so I'd almost put him at 9 for the sheer coolness of that alone. The other contributing factor is his wink when unlocking the doors in Narshe. So simple, but just pure gold. 8 - Cid - FFVII Cid has some brilliant lines and an interesting background with his career and his wife Shera. His relationship with her is mature and not an easy subject to pull off as well as they did. You could say he changes or maybe he doesn't. He's not higher in the list because, again, he comes in too late so his wife and career are the only areas that are really explored. 7 - Laguna - FFVIII Laguna is probably the most frustrating thing about FFVIII. While he has a great story told in a unique and interesting way, they don't tell enough of it. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Aside from this, he makes the plot of FFVIII fun to play through, no matter how hard the others try to make it worse.I really rate Square for not forcing this story down our throats and instead leaving much of it blank to be filled by our imaginations or his diary, but the overthrowing of Adel and Laguna's subsequent taking over of Esther is something that really should have been playable or at least shown in some way other than one old man making him head of the resistance. 6 - Reno - FFVII Reno is a cold-blooded murderer, don't let AC fool you. He has one of the strongest presences in any FF game; once he's in the room, he gets attention, and not for being a loud, overloaded villain, but because of his unpredicatable nature and general air of danger. Oh, and he sometimes comes across as really distant, an example being when he's about to be killed, Rude saves him, then he just says: 'Good timing Rude.' That's pretty cool in my book. 5 - Zidane - FFIX Zidane has everything needed to make a great main character and leader. His support and relationships with everyone in the team is more developed than any other leader in the series. The only reason he's not higher is because of the ridiculous end to the game and discovery of his origins. It's as if he's starting to lose the main character status - not true - so he has to be pushed back into the centre by the plotline. Regardless, he is a brilliant character. 4 - Steiner - FFIX Steiner is how to do comic relief. Every time any game developer is even thinking, or dreaming, about how to succeed with a comic relief character, they should first play through FFIX again and see how Steiner does it. 3 - Sephiroth - FFVII The best villain. He has development, origins, presence on screen, player motive for actually wanting to beat him, and he in the perpetrator in one of the most moving deaths in gaming. He isn't even seen as being the main enemy in the beginning. The FFVII story might be bizarre in a lot of ways, but Sephiroth is built up in a very successful fashion. 2 - Beatrix - FFIX Without a doubt, the strongest female character in the series. Everything about her is classy. She's also one of the most attractive characters in the series, and without showing four-fifths of her naked body either. 1 - Ashe - FFXII I've never been so taken in by any story as much as Ashe's. She's basically the villain in some ways. Her story is vengeance and she is prepared to do anything to get it. I'm a gamer who needs a lot of motive to play through games or train strong characters. Ashe has been, for me, the easiest of any characters in the series to play as and make powerful. I always want to see Ashe beating all the optional bosses in the game, train her up as a magical and physical goddess, and kit her out with all the best stuff the game has to offer. She's a bit like Barbie, only for people who like FF games. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

10 Fairs- Final Fantasy V
Fairs is a great character because love how she just likes to be herself. She is not scared to be herself and isn't worried what others think of her. So I dress like man ? Who cares !? It's awesome how Fairs thinks that way and she supports Bartz when he is grieving over his Fathers death. Fairs is a great person and a great friend to those in the FF V Party.. 9- Vincent Valentine- Final Fantasy VII Vincent is a innocent man who only wanted love in return. He was a good guy and only desired something simple however his future is a depressing one and he ends up being experimented on and in deep regret. His story shows so much pain- mentally and physically and he really didn't deserve to go through it all. His character is great because Vincent shows you how terrible Prof Hojo really was/ is and he brings in anger and force to stop the Shrina company.. 8- Squall Leonhart- Final Fantasy VIII Squall is usually disliked because he is seen as whiny emotional or emo. However Squall goes through so much and his character is quite human. Sometimes we can have anger or be a jerk to others because of our past and Squall is just a example of a damaged past.. He is amazing because we se him overcome his weaknesses and his fears and slowly become a amazing and powerful leader of a nation. Squall is amazing because he overcame his past and fought what was making his life so misarable and became a stronger character/ person.. 7- Kain Highwind- Final Fantasy IV Kain can look like a right jerk. He may seem cold/ show no mercy and may come off as heartless and carless or just a hateful tratior. But really deep inside he is a caring protector that wants to protect the person that he cares/ loves the most .. Rosa. However his jealously and bitterness gets in the way and he ruins his repuntation and falls into regert for his mistakes. Kain is great because he bring a lesson to players that jealously can kill us and Kain underneath all that hate and jealously is a kind and sweet person/ character.. 6- Edward Damcyan- Final Fantasy IV * SHOCK *- Yes It's Edward.. so many players dislike Edward because he can't fight in battle and he is annoying and whiney, but so what ? It's not right for a man to be a little senstive and show their emotions ? * SHOCK*- A man crying !- oh my godness he must be a looser.. Really ? Edward was a man who was a little scared and he really has a strong heart. You don't need a big massive weapon to be a amazing. Edward cared for his lover and friends and he was/ is just fulled with courage. Edward even though he is nevours he tries his best to move on and be strong and do his best to fight the good fight ! 5- Yuna- Final Fantasy X Yuna may of been a little naive but she was rather strong- willed and she has good courage and she is deteremined and the most un-selfish Final Fantasy character in it's history. She desires peace and freedom for other people she desires the world to be free from chaos even it means just for a short peroid of time. She was willing to give up anything she had just so a person could smile... even if was just for a day... 4- Locke Cole- Final Fantasy VI Locke is a outgoing/ carefree guy but inside he is sad from what happened in his past and he really tries hard not to make the same mistake. He does anything to protect those he cares about and help those in need. Locke also makes great comic relief and he can make the player weep a tear or crack up in hordes of laughter with his silly actics.. :3 Locke is a sweet guy who is a little hurt inside... 3- Zidane Tribal- Final Fantasy IX If Zidane didn't act like a playboy at the start would of put him a little higher.. but Zidane is a great leader who loves helping others in need. Just like Locke but unlike Locke Zidane protects/ cares and gives support and advice to anybody even those who were once rivials to him in the past. Zidane is a intellgient character and love how he is a happy/ cheerful main after seeing Squall and Cloud. It's awesome how cheerful and outgoing Zidane was/ is.. Kind of prefer Locke's comic relief but Zidane reaches out to help anybody.. 2- Terra- Final Fantasy VI Terra is a such a strong female. She may start out as weak and confused but she learns to grow and she becomes a stronger person throughout the game. Terra becomes a mighty warrior and a fearless leader. She is 2nd place because she shows us the adventre/ journey of becoming basically a stronger person and even though this may sound a little chessy. But the power of love can give us strength to become stronger and fight forward. Our love for our Family Friends and maybe our lovers. We would do anything to protect them and Terra shows that to the players that love is more important that it seems/ made out to be.. 1- Cecil Harvey- Final Fantasy IV Cecil is the number one spot because inside that dark and scary/ powerful armour is basically.. well... jelly. Cecil is has the most strongest heart that have ever seen in a Final Fantasy lead. Cecil cares for anybody no matter what they have done and he is quick to forgive and he forgive others no matter what he is really to give others a second chance. [ Mean- how many times does he forgive Kain ? ![]() Like Edward below him he is also a character who is a little unconfident but he brings out so much courage within him and he does things other people would be too scared to do/ try.. Cecil rocks basically ^^ -------------------- Currently playing Chrono Trigger !! Currently looking forward to Don't Know. |
