You can get it from iTunes but not for free. You don't even have to have an iPod, just download the software, purchase, and burn the CD. It's kind of expensive though. To buy the full album is $24.99 US currency.

You can download the ps1-ripped soundtrack from Zophar's for free. It's all in .psf format, so you'll probably have to use some kind of media plugin to play it. Link: http://www.zophar.net/psf/

I downloaded that, and got xmplay for it, but when I dragged the music into it, nothing happened. I tried it a couple different ways, but nothing. Heeelp!

There's a link to the 'Highly Experimental' Winamp plugin in this very site. =P And the soundtrack too, I think. That's what started me on my rampage of psf downloads. (Thank you Zophar!)

Here you are.

Except I did that, I got the plugin already. Didn't work. Now I have the FF7 soundtrack folder open, I have xmplay open, I drag the soundtrack in and...a resounding, nothing.

Edit
I think I fixed it.

Edit
No I didn't, I changed all of them to open as xmplay files and still nothing happens! Why does my computer hate me?! Can someone help?

Edit
Screw it. I got winamp and it works on there. Mods, you could just delete my posts if you want.

Also, if you're searching for MIDIs, keep this in mind:

There are an official set of MIDIs, which are part of the PC version, and then there are the fan-made MIDIs.

If you want something that most faithfully reproduces the PC version's music, well...yeah, you know what to look for. You'll have to listen carefully to every track you get though. I don't have much in terms of fan-made MIDIs, so I can't say about the faithfulness of those to either version.
