Cursed Relic

Today for a chuckle I bid my Cursed Shield at the collesium and got a Cursed Ring (relic) out of it. I havent heard any mention of this before, just the usual about turning the cursed shield into the paladin shield.
Does anybody know anything about this relic? I dont want to loose my paladin shield and un-curse the relic if it isnt as good. |

IIRC, it just gives you a hero ring when uncursed. I think.
I'm not 100% sure you can uncurse it; I know the number of turns you fought with the cursed shield is stored in RAM but I don't remember hearing about the ring. The Cursed Ring never uncurses. It'll just remain a crappy Relic that gives you a timer and teaches X-Zone at a x5 rate.

Was this intentional? Or just a sort of half-implemented item. Is there an in-game reason to assume that it will uncurse, just because the cursed shield does? I mean, the shield doesn't tell you HOW to uncurse it all, I believe, it's just that old man in Narshe saying "Oh, if only we could uncurse it."

I remember getting so excited when I found out there was a cursed ring. I immediately assumed you could do the same thing as you could with the cursed shield. But after reading a lot of rumours but getting no confirmation that anything actually worked, (to un-curse the ring) I didn't bother wasting my time. But it doesn't really bother me that you can't un-curse it mainly because of the marvel shoes. Every time I play I get like 12 of 'em just so everybody can hold one when I'm in multi-party areas.
