There is the 'Jenova' program, which basically fulfills most of your FFVIIPC needs, although I've heard it can't do all that it says it can. Still, it could do what you want.

You can find a download here.

Well I've been having troubles with my PS1 version.

Around the battle square in the golden saucer everything starts to tweak out. The music and animation will glitch for varying lengths of time and the neventually it will just stop.

I've cleaned the disc. Is it time to buy a new copy?

Mooncow you can try all kinds of things to sort glitches before you need to buy the game again.

Try putting your PS1/PS2 on it's other side, this usually works. You can also swap your disc 1/2/3 for any other discs once the game has loaded which will "change" each of the game's cut-scenes but still let you play.

Haha it's actually really funny sometimes. Here's what you do:

Load up your save (put in the RIGHT disc)
Then once your in the game when it ISN'T loading eg world map, put in either the 1st or 2nd disc
This should make the game run smoothly if one of your discs is scratched or something
The funny bit is, all the cinematics in the game are taken from the disc you have in,

Some funny bits:
When you run over the mountain and expect to see the whirlwind maze, I saw a HUGE gold statue of Dio
When Barret presses the button on the window to let Tifa see meteor for the first time, we see the pillar collapsing as if he'd just blew the charges by pressing the button!
The first time you go into the Gold Saucer I saw Cloud in his wheelchair and Tifa falling into the lifestream - this you have to see to find funny, the gold saucer music is still there

What do you mean? Can't you just input the levels/stats of each character then? (Unless that's one of the things Jenova can't do.)

Do you have screenshots of any of these?

No but you can get them too. Just read then follow my instruction when you play the game again. It's worthwhile. The only changed cinematics I've not seen is the starting one, the one where Barret tells you to press "X" to run and the screen goes up towards the reactor, the reactor explosion, and Cloud falling.
