I personally didn't get the glitch at first, i think you have to go to the second gathering place AND THEN you won't have the glitch, i did it this way and didn't get the glitch, when i returned to North Crater, did the gathering stuff again and went back to the first place before the second one, that's where i got the glitch.

Yeah, I tried going to the second gathering place and going back again to see if it worked, but alas, it didn't.

I came across this forum/thread after searching and searching for an answer
 Same thing happened to me too, and gah I was so crushed rofl. I got all my chars lvl 99 and I was ready to go back and get all the limit breaks and beat the weapons and stuff. It really really sucks I was hoping I could find an answer somewhere as to how to leave. T_T *SIGH.* lol |

it happened to me as well i had to start a new game, which was kinda dissapointing but it gave me something to do.
