Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it was made at all, but Nomura and the KH team is working on Final Fantasy XIII: Fabula Nova Crystalis right now, so it will probably be awhile.

OH MY GOOD GRIEF, if they stop the produciton of FF XIII for a dumb title like KH III ... im going to ... be very upset mad.gif

Personally, I'd perfer Kingdom Hearts III to anything to do with Final Fantasy XIII. Saw the trailer of FFXIII... not very impressive, I say.

Furthermore, people are talking about what they'd like to see in the next Kingdom Hearts?

First off, it looks like, unfortunately, that not many Amano characters are being used. Sure they gave us Setzer (oh, yeah!) and Vivi, but apart from that, it doesn't look like we'll be getting much more. It's a shame, really. It would be great if we could have some of the old classics. So, the following stuff is kinda just wishful thinking.

Secondly, did they HAVE to abuse Final Fantasy VII characters? It's nice, but it was a bit much. I mean, they could have easily left Tifa out of Kingdom Hearts II. She's not very important, and her only real role in the game was if you beat Sephiroth... and they could have easily used Aerith for that.

Okay, regarding the first thing, instead of cramping the game's characters up with people from Final Fantasy VII and X (Tidus, Wakka, Auron, Yuna, Rikku, Paine [when the only I actually thought was a valuable addition to the story was Auron]), they could be bringing black classics! Tidus and Wakka were merely mentioned offhand in KHII, though, so it's not as abusive... but still, lots of VII... but we can't stop that now, since most have them have been made into recurring characters.

The character I want to see most in Kingdom Hearts is Cecil... the PALADIN. I mean, we've really only ever seen him in a 2D environment. Setzer was boring for me in KHII because he wasn't... Setzer. He was a weirdo using a big blue tube to fight. He just wasn't anything like the Setzer in FFVI. What we need is a full-fledged Paladin Cecil! With all the Final Fantasy characters, except for Setzer, they did a pretty good job on the transition (ESSPECIALLY Auron, by the way)... but if they put someone as awesome as Cecil in the game and mess HIM up... I will be PISSED! Seriously, though... we need more characters from the old 2D games... I'm just not sure how I'd fit them in.

Okay, there's something everyone needs to understand about Kingdom Hearts. The Kingdom Hearts games are not about Final Fantasy. The Final Fantasy characters are there as guests. They don't play any utterly important role in the story. It isn't even about Disney either.

So there are no Amano characters. Omg. So what? Nomura is the director, he's using his own characters. You'd probably call him for using Amano's characters 'improperly' if he decided using them (don't get me started on the people bitching because of Setzer, even though he doesn't even play an important role in the story). And as much as having a few of them in there would be nice, it won't happen. (For reasons I already explained). It isn't a big deal. Any person who got into Final Fantasy with the newer games (probably) isn't going to know who Leonheart or Faris or Cecil is or even care for that matter. Everyone seems to act as if having Nomura characters in the game is just a travesty and that Amano's holy of holiest character designs would make the game so much better.

And regarding VII and X, well they are arguably the most popular games in the series (VII pretty much is, and X was mega popular in Japan for obvious reasons). It makes sense that he'd use many of those characters in his game.

And like laszlow said, they're working on Fabula Nova Crystalis right now. The next KH game won't be produced for some time.

There. I'm done ranting.

It's just that this is a Final Fantasy forum, mainly, so I assumed we were discussing the Final Fantasy guest characters. Sorry for that confusion.

Really, X was popular? On all the other forums I go to, everyone always says that X and X-2 are by far the worst... I happen to disagree, but still, it really doesn't seem popular to me. I didn't know about it's popularity in Japan.

And ya, I think I mentioned that before too, that Kingdom Hearts 3 probably won't be coming for a long while... which is unfortunate because I do NOT plan on purchasing a PS3. Final Fantasy's had it's glory days, so I'm not getting any more of those (except for the GBA version of 6 and the DS version of 3.) I'm not gonna buy a PS3 just for Kingdom Hearts III, even though Kingdom Hearts II was my second favorite game of all time.

I understand that Nomura is the director. I assumed the reason that they didn't use many Amano characters is because they might get in trouble, since Amano has nothing to do with these games.

Yes, I understand that it's no big deal, I was just saying.

Also, what's wrong with putting in characters that people won't recognize? Nintendo put Mr. Game & Watch, the Ice Climbers, Marth and Roy into Super Smash Brothers Melee and nobody knew who they were for the most part, and Melee still sold like hotcakes. They shouldn't put in highly recognized characters for sales purposes... they should put in characters who fit well with the situations. They've done that so far... except for Setzer, which I keep saying.

I guess my main problem with the KH2 Setzer is that it was inoppurtune for the situation, where all the other characters were given environments and situations in which the original character would be, at least remotely. Setzer is not a swordfighter, end of story. They had plenty of other selections they could have used for that position, that's my point.

Your rant is justified, I said things and they didn't come out right. Sorry.

That wasn't directed specifically at you, just at the overwhelming amount of people that seem to be old-school (or whatever) and seem to think 'Amano is so much better than Nomura/Nomura's characters suck/Nomura ruined Setzer!1111on!e/what-have-you'. I personally enjoy both of their character designs.

X-2 gets alot of hate, yes.

X would be popular in Japan from it's obviously Japan (and other island)-themed atmosphere and people. It did win an entire Japanese (was it Famitsu? I'll go dig it up eventually) contest for the 'list of your favorite video games', so it's pretty popular there.

Yeah, that price tag is staggering.

Well, Nomura felt uncomfortable even using Vivi and Setzer (even though apparently Setzer was originally his own design; go search around for that thread around here), which I would find understandable. Using a bunch of characters that he didn't even design would probably make him even more uncomfortable. Though, thankfully he has plenty more of his own characters he hasn't used (Quistis...heart.gif)

Well, it seems to me, that most of the people (not all) that play the Kingdom Hearts games would be more familiar with the games after Final Fantasy VI (given that most of the characters in the games are from the games VII and onward). This is just my personal belief, I'm not proclaiming it to be the absolute truth, I just think it's a very likely reason why they wouldn't have any clue who they are. This is why it makes me giggle when people say 'Let's put these thirty Amano characters and their subsequent worlds into KHIV!!1'.

That's perfectly fine. I wasn't directing that at you personally, it's just I've heard so many people (mostly on this site) complain that 'Setzer has just been defiled. Our holy Setzer is a cheat!omg11one', when he didn't play too much of a role in the story. This isn't 'Final Fantasy Hearts' or 'Setzer's Wild and Crazy Adventure with Sora', it's just Kingdom Hearts II. That's just the point I'm trying to make.

Well, in the states FFVI is more popular than X (Gamefaqs polls). Just barely though. And my beloved Chrono Trigger is more popular than both.

And as for Setzer's design, although it was destroyed, that's probably a minor factor if at all. I'm just happy us older fans get some justice. And I've said before that there are some Amano characters who could get Nomura-ized without too much trouble and hate (Locke and Gau come to mind). -CSM

The Kingdom Hearts franchise is, to me anyway, utter trash.

That being said, I agree with the thread author that more 2D characters being introduced to new games would be a good thing. Cecil is an excellent choice, IMO. Whippersnappers nowadays need to see some old school being represented.

Now get the hell off my lawn.

They couldnt make another one because theyve tied up pretty much all the loose ends that the first ones left, theres not enough story left to make another one

Considering how few loose ends there were on Chrono Trigger but how they were nevertheless able to make not one but TWO sequels to it (and of course "rake in the cash", as Kane says), I wouldn't be surprised if KH3 appears. Especially since the KH3 fanbase is probably (I think) significantly bigger than the CT fanbase.

^Actually it's not. Chrono Trigger was rated third best game of all time by Gamefaqs users, behind FFVII and Ocarina of Time. Kingdom Hearts was in the 20s or so.

KH isn't trash. It's really good. It's just not as godlike as its fanboys make it out to be.

And yeah. Edgar hitting on Kairi would make my day and help erase any doubt I've had about Square. -CSM

Actually i dont think they tied up all the loose ends in Kingdom Hearts II, they actually raised more questions, like what happened to some of the other older worlds that didnt reappear. Also they still have a whole new angle they can do with sora and kairi they.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Like for example they could transform into there nobodies and do certain things with them they cant do in there normal forms.
Plus they added new ablities and new keybalde users (wont state who though.)
Plus they have a whole unexplored avenue with riku they could do. So yes they did tie up loose ends but created more just incase. Also there is no question in my mind that they will make a thrid one, people want another one, plus they need to bring in more major nobodies.
On a side note, they made two sequals to chrono trigger? i only know Chrono Cross whats the other one?

^"Radical Dreamers" was a Japan-exclusive game for the SNES that had Serge, Kid, and Guile (Magil) do their Viper Manor run that was redone in Chrono Cross.

Also, there's an inside joke between me and others about the fictional game "Chrono Alcoholism," which we pretended was a game released by Square on the SNES (we started this joke at about the time FFX-2 was released because we were all appalled by that game and wanted to make up a Chrono counterpart to it that was actually good). We actually made a very serious description of what the story was and what stuff there was in it. We even wrote a story about the game's "release." But I really, REALLY wanted to play the real Chrono Alcoholism. Square should actually make it. -CSM

I never said anything about an FF WORLD. I just think some of Amano's characters fit into the Disney worlds more than some of Nomura's.

And not just Amano's. When I watched one of the YuRiPa scenes, I thought this could be a great place for Crono, Marle, and Lucca to show (not to mention Terra in her Esper form...). -CSM

I actually think they will rehash a few worlds that did not appear in KHII, plus add in some of the ones that were new in KHII. Plus they will definatly have there own new worlds for the game. I think they probably will have a strickly final fantasy world, though i pray they dont. The reason i think that is because a majority of the fans seem to want it. What i hope for the next game how ever is that they will bring back drive mode, this time however have things you have to use each form for though rather than just optional and not usable during the final battle. I also think there should be a world were you do things in the gummy ship, it'd be more fun to fight a boss of a world with a gummie ship rather than just having to hack and slash to get your way thru. It'd take real stragie. They also i think should inculde a few more drives and more powerful summons and what not.

If they DO make an FF world, Kain should be in it though. -CSM

KHIII would be absolutely incredible! I may not have beaten the first one, but I have beaten the second game. I loved the cliffhanger ending, because it shows that there's gotta be a third one on the way. First of all, the letter from King Mickey kinda gives a clue. Then, there's the letter that Squall received. Somehow I'm assuming that was from Rinoa, so we're boound to meet up with her in the next one. Also, I'd like to know just how Roxas and Namine's relationship will tie in with Sora and Kairi's. I know they kinda hinted at it in the ending, but I'd like to see more develop from that. (BTW, I never did get the complete ending, so most of this is just saying where the next game could go.) I'd also like to see more characters from FF IV, VI, VIII, and IX. Those were a few of my favorite installments in the series, so I'd like to see more of the characters from them. Somehow, I think Zidane would fit well at Port Royal, but I'm not entirely sure how Garnet would fit there. And what if Steiner and Beatrix were knights at Disney Castle? Possibly even add Paladin Cecil and Rosa into that mix? Or even Cyan? What can I say? I love the old-school FF's. I'd like to see how their characters would fit in with the KH storyline!

From what i have seen they'd just insert them into random places they didnt need to be like with vivi and stezer, who comes acrossed as a real jerk to me. Thats besides the point. If they are going to add these new final fantasy charecters they need to make them vital to the story not just there for people to go "ooo aurons in this one, and he's a partner" no they need a true reason, like what leon and aires and yuffie and cid were in the other ones. If you going to add stiner and beatrix as gaurds at disney castle for example, they need to have a good stroy as to why they are there and need to benifical to the story and progression, i personall hate that they just throw in random bosses that have no back story and are just there sheerly to be hard. Couldnt they add the boss make it hard and give it some sort of reason for being there. Mabye not have it be vital to the story but at least make it have an intresting affect on the story, for example they could of added the weapons from FFVII. You could fight emerald in port royal after meeting certian requirements, the reason it's there is because when cloud's world was destoryed the weapons were released upon new worlds and deciated themselves to procteing them like they were suppost to on there world. When you'd beat in port royal maybe you learn more about the distruction of clouds world that could trigger a quest for the weapons. After you beat the rest of them you maybe you are able to go to a mini shrine world where cloud and co. have a momerial for all of those lost to the heartless or something.

Zidane would definitely fit in. I'd like to see him voiced by Don Henley (from the Eagles), since that's what I hear him sound like.

Cyan and Sabin... urp! They don't work too well. From FFVI, I'd consider using Terra, Locke, Edgar, Gau, Celes, Mog (although since the Moogles are unspecified you could easily say one of them is Mog), or Relm, or Gogo as a boss.

Gau would definitely fit in a Tarzan world, and Locke could be one of those characters used the way Tifa, Yuffie, Aeris, Cloud, and Squall were used. (so could Zidane for that matter).

I was gonna comment about Vivi, then I remembered he's already used. Cecil and Rosa don't really work well, though. I think Rydia would fit in better. As would Kain in the same vein Auron was in. -CSM

I'll say there'll definitely be one...

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
At the end the point at a sequal with the letter, and on top of that they never finished with Meleficent and Pete.

A better question to me would be what new worlds would you like to, or think we will, see in KHIII.

^ again that is like what another side another story was, it was only ment to be a teaser trailer to get the fans appities wet incase people wanted more and the game did incredibly well. Thats all it was and nothing more, sure if there is another one the concepts in that trailer will be used but that does not 100% garuntee that there will be another game. They are focused on final mix of KH2 right now i doubt they even have time to worrie about a third one with the production of FFXIII coming along and all. Plus they are also working on some of the FFVII projects as well.

KHII did do well, and they have backing funding from Disney. Disney milk EVERYTHING dry until you hate it. Find a hit Disney movie they didn't ruin with poor quality sequals or an eye twitchingly bad cartoon series! =P

Fact is we're not talking about an iffy game series with iffy ratings, we're talking about a hit series (even though I didn't like 2 as much) with a huge fan base. They're already milking it with the "final mix" thing. Sometimes you don't need to have things announced to know they'll happen in the game world.

Does anyone know if Kingdom Hearts 3 is still being considered? I've just finished the second one and loved it. A sequel would be great, although the story was wrapped up very nicely.

Can anyone tell me what the secret ending to Kingdom Hearts 2 consists of, how it's different, and if it's worth bothering with please? Thank you.

The secret ending is for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, a game being developed for the psp.

It is pretty short, so you might just want to look it up on youtube if you don't feel like completeing the journal.

I'm not sure if this is real or a fake. If it's real, then one of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts games (maybe the one on DS?) is getting a High School Musical world.

You're welcome.
