Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has every made a WORKING way to win bets on chocobos at the gold saucer in FF7, if you aren't racing your own chocobo and you're just betting? If you have such a theory, or an idea for a thoery that could be made, or anything related to chocobos in FF7, can you PLEASE tell/ask me?

well to me i always look them up depending on speed and stamina stamina is how much the chocobo can use up to run their average speed until it drops down to rest and slightly increase and speed of course is how fast the chocobo will acelerate eating up all the temporary stamina you have at this time.
okay the system lets you make three bets what u should do is compare every speed and stamina and if they seem moderatly hi then u could justThen see the chocobos number and the 2nd fastest chocobos # and look in the squares below and select the ones you think will win after comparing to every chocobo and the 1st and 2nd place can go vice-versa. hope it works ![]() |

I think I've found a 100% working theory, but I need to do more tests... I'll tell you about it in a couple of days...

Good question. I have the answer. If the chocobo sprints as you see it in the betting options that means it has won its previous races. Therefore these chocobos are likely to win again so bet on as many as you see. This is not 100% - there is no 100% - but its very likely that you will win.

I dont think thats the case, after all i have tried doing that on numerous occasions and it didnt work, I think it was just square's way of showing variety in the "choose a chocobo" screen (avec awesome music). Im afraid there is no sure fire way of choosing the two chocobos that will win but assesing the ones with both good stamina and speed will give you a better chance of picking the two, but you can never tell if the jockey will sprint at the start wasting energy and lose because he is unable to sprint when he needs to. |

Well if you think differently that's fine but I'm very happy betting on the sprinters. Just because they lose one race doesn't mean my theory is false. I bet on them repeatedly as I was playing online poker and in the space of one game (around one hour) I had accumilated 217GP. I became one Happy Shopper.

USUALLY. . . .
The chocobo with the highest speed and the one with the most well rounded stats will win. I used to bet on the one with the highest stamina but it just got fourth most of the time This post has been edited by squaresoftie on 7th May 2006 14:09 -------------------- Too much hope is the opposite of despair... an overpowering love may consume you in the end. -Vincent Valentine |

Quote but you can never tell if the jockey will sprint at the start wasting energy and lose because he is unable to sprint when he needs to. Actually, you can. If the chocobo jockey is a sort of Caramel color, then it will sprint at the start of the race. (Only tested in C rank races) Quote If the chocobo sprints as you see it in the betting options that means it has won its previous races. Therefore these chocobos are likely to win again so bet on as many as you see. This is not 100% - there is no 100% - but its very likely that you will win. I think that running at the screen where you place your bets means that that chocobo has a low intel. I'm working on a program where you put in the data on each chocobo, and it tells you which one will win... stay tuned. |

Nah sorry the sprinter means races won. You find this out from your own chocobo. Lose a number of races and in the start-up, it won't sprint.
