Good work bigotry. I've fought a similar fight to yours and here's some tips for a faster battle:

1 - Yoshiyuki. It's my favourite sword in the game. Only two materia slots but well worth it as it damages 9200-9999 a hit at 255 strength as long as the two other characters are down.

2 - Fourth Bracelet. Highest magic defense in the game I believe. Get it in Rocket Town if you havn't already. This really knocks down his Emerald Shoot and gives you plenty of turns.

3 - Hero Drinks. Remember you can only use a maximum of four. Crucial to quick success, apologies if you know this anyway.

4 - Meteorain. Faster than Omnislash and it charges much quicker. With Yoshiyuki and Hero Drinks you can cause massive damage easily.

5 - Sadness/No change. Don't go into the battle with Fury because your attacks will be high anyway. Sadness if you want Emerald to do REALLY weak attacks but you'll get less limits. Have Cloud in the front row if you go in with Sadness.

I'll probably think of more in due course. Hope this helps you lower your time. I feel like a fitness trainer .

I don't know the exact time, but I think it was around 15 minutes...

I beat Emerald, without KotR this summer. I used Comet 2 + Quad (?) Materia + Mime. I used Omnislash and Highwind twice, and All Creation three times. I also went through a few Mega Elixirs...I think I had w-item, w-magic, and final attack + phoenix, too.

I haven't beaten emerald yet, just cause I was so young when I played it the last time.. And now I'm back, stronger then ever.. hahaha..

Well, I was thinking, aren't the easiest way to beat him with quad-kotr and w-summon, and final attack-phoenix as a precaution?
And I do have one more question, if I do mime after been killed (final attack-phoneix) will it mime kotr or phoneix?

(I'm not surprised you just skipped to the 'first unread post') Looking back i think there trying to find new and exciting ways of beating him without KotR and Quad Magic etc.

If your question is as i've read it then they will mime Phoenix and you'll have to start your KotR chain again.

I only had some people able to cure and some people with very necessary magic, so Aire Tam Storm wouldn't kill me! I had to have Underwater too! But I died anyway!

Man... that's brilliant. Hahahaha, that's really bloody good! LMAO! HAHAHAHA, that is so good! I needa give that one a shot. That certainly beats the very, very long Knights of the Round and Mime routine.

I tried beating him "Sephiroth style":

Single character
Level 50
Gold Armlet
Touph Ring
Mastered Materia - Earth/All, Thunder/All, Ice/All, Fire, Revive, Restore

try it, quite a laugh.
