Perhaps it was merely overlooked, but regardless a third Paper Mario title has been announced. In this new game you'll play as Mario, of course. But joining your playable characters will be both Peach and Bowser, though their parts seem unconfirmed, it seems possible that they might actually be playable in battle and normal gameplay, rather than just the bit parts they had in previous Paper Mario titles.
The game is slated for release sometime in the fourth quarter of 2006. Hopefully it will improve on the series. The first Paper Mario for the N64 I thought was somewhat innovative and at least fun to play. The second just seemed stale. Maybe it was the lack of memorable characters. Anyway, like I said, improvement would be welcome.

I never played the other Paper Marios (I wasn't even aware of an N64 title) because the price never came down. Maybe a new game will make the old one drop a little.

Agreed. supposidly it's going to be a platformer in which you switch from 2-D to 3-D. Seems like a pretty hit-or-miss idea, but we could all use some innovation. -------------------- Can you pull down the dawn? Why do they always short-change Luigi?

Man, for years I've wanted to play the original Paper Mario, and now the series is getting a new installment. I've already missed at least two...

I actually liked the Paper Mario series, and I bypass a lot of the Mario games. I will probably get this one.
But seriously, why can't they just let the Mario fad die? -------------------- Squenix games completed: FFIII FFIV FFVI FFVII FFIX FFX FF Tactics: Advance 2 Chrono Trigger Dragon Quest 8 Dragon Quest 11 Super Mario RPG |
