It was a decent movie... too many motorcycle scenes. Oooh, the world is in danger, i'm sick, i have no idea where to go... OOH, A BIKE RIDE SOUNDS FUN... ooh, my materia is stolen and the city is gonna die, BIKE TIME...

Yuffie was as annoying and materia-obsessed as ever. Vincent was cool and so was cid. Cloud was porbably the best character tho. Vincent needs a phone.

Bahamut Shin came out pretty cool and the entire move had good special effects.

Cloud was WAY to overpowered and if he had that strength in FFVII, the game would be no challenge.

Yes, I would have to agree. I mean, I like the voice, don't get me wrong. It just didn't suit Red at all, and I can't imagine that voice saying Red's lines from the game. And there were a few things that didn't fit. For instance, when Cloud asks Vincent if sins are ever really forgiven, and Vincent responds by saying, "I've never tried." He's totally lying. In the game, he says that the reason he slept all those years was to atone for his sins. His reason behind going after Hojo is the same. And when you first are prompted to go to the Northern Crater, before the raid on Midgar, on the Highwind he asks if destroying Sephiroth will place another sin on his concience, or if it will atone for past ones. But, I suppose I'm just being picky. I really liked the way they did his character (aside from that one line). And don't EVEN get me started on his voice wub.gif

Overall, I loved the movie. Other than in the fight between Loz and Tifa, the music was great. I never thought they could improve upon 'One Winged Angel,' but they did. And the placement of the music was perfect. Everything was really good, at least in my opinion. After seeing it, it's difficult to keep my hatred of Aerith alive. They portrayed her as such an angel, and the complete opposite of the bimbo I saw her as in the game. Other than her, all the characters matched the personalities I understood in the game, save one: Sephiroth. Is it just me, or is he a bit too reasonable and, well, normal? In the game, they portray him as a madman who went around gleefully slaying random innocents. But the movie made him out to be a rational, though still very sadistic man. Even his voice was calm. I think they could have done a bit better in that area. But, overall, quite a lovely movie thumbup.gif I can't help but watch it again, and again, and again...

Reno was pretty cool.

Anyways, I loved the movie. I did think that Sephiroth was beaten quite quickly, but I still enjoyed the battle. And I'm probably the only one who almost cried over the scene with Kadaj and Cloud after that. ;

Reno was pretty cool but i did cry with Kadaj and Cloud blush.gif

kai9d9 with the W-post...

I thought the dilly-dally-shally was so forced she barely got it out. Horrible line - or lines rather.

As for Sephiroth yeah he does seem normal, but I think it's because he is just making his fighting look really easy when it is anything but. I like the way that he does just look like he's barely trying in the final fight with Cloud while the latter is full of emotion and moving incredibly quickly.

Concerning Tseng's appearance in the movie I have two possible interpretations:
1. That was Reeve, not Tseng.
OR
2. Rufus was dead at the end and so were the Turks, we actually saw ghosts at the end.

Cloud did use the fully assmebled First Tsurugi against Bahamut. If you watch closely, he assembles it during his ascent. Does anyone know which was on the left side, Sidewinder or Ascalon?

Tseng was in the movie. he was at the first in Northern crater, then Kadaj gave Reno Elena and Tsengs badges. then when they catch reno at the end you see Tseng and Elena all bandaged up.

By Reno, I assume you mean Rufus.

Lol, maybe it is the latter. Ooh, I know! Perhaps...they all either had Geostigma, or the planet was mad at them for assisting Shinra. So it wouldn't let them join the Lifestream, and they're just stuck there, floating about, until they fix things. Of course, that wouldn't explain why Tseng and Elena bother catching Rufus at the end, but...

Or, it could be an attempt to bring back some of the most popular baddies in the game, to attract fans and make more money, and they entirely forgot about...ya know, logic and all. The logic that says a man stabbed and left, bleeding to death inside a temple which then is turned into a tiny stone and another who gets completely blown away by a blast of energy powerful enough to completely destroy the floor he's on generally don't survive.

Actually, Tseng did survive. In the PC version, they tidied up Elena's exclamation so that it doesn't seem like he actually died. (Although I'm sure getting Masamune'd wasn't very pleasant for him.)

At any rate, I suppose it was an alright movie. Some pretty kickass fight scenes, OWA remix, everyone getting back together, Kitten Sith, and Yuffie-witten. It certainly isn't the best movie in the world, but I wasn't expecting it to be anyway.

And you gotta love those one-liners.

"Where's the phone salesman at?" xD
