I haven't posted any drawings in a while so I'll start with these:
Tentacle Lady: This is just a generic demon sort of thing that came to mind during class. Lich Guy: This lich uses his unfortunate victims to power his magic and, as y'all can see, he ain't particularly choosy about his, uh, batteries. He don't discriminate. Basically, the two in this last pic were captured and twisted by demons. The chic is unfinished cuz I couldn't decide what to do with her bottom half (also, I ran out of paper there. The important parts are all there, though, so I'm satisfied...for now. This post has been edited by Galsic on 23rd November 2005 01:49 Attached Image -------------------- |

Definitely twisted. The "chic" reminds me of like a clayface type creature whose limbs grow and stuff

Um...oh...kay. Whatever,
But yeah, I can't really rate them because they're monster-type characters of some kind, but I guess they're appropriately scary. As for that lich, though, he looks quite reminiscent of Shaft from Castlevania Symphony of the Night. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Well, at least ye commented on something As for the lich, his design and concept are based on those of a drawing I did a few years earlier and I felt like updating it, as I often do with many other earlier drawings (who knows, I may even post a few of these updates here later on, hee hee). Here are a couple more pickies:
This guy, I guess, is more of an experiment; an serious attempt to draw the male body after making some observations here and there. Rather sketchy, that it is, but I'm happy to have gotten it out of my system. The next drawing is also based on an observation...of a banana peel Attached Image -------------------- |

Damn, you can draw some pretty freaky monsters. Impressive but freaky.
You should try out for video game monster design or something. I think you've got a nack for it. The banana one kinda reminds me of some water monster off Super Metroid for some reason. Ahh, I can see it now... a really creepy fantasy/horror movie, with all the animation done by you! The road to fame has your name all over it!
Ambition-sparking speeches aside, these are really good. Creepy, yet sophisticated. -------------------- "No matter what happens, I will always be with you... forever." ---- Pocahontas, Pocahontas "Only those who are already at the top are rewarded without trying."----- Delita Hyral, Final Fantasy Tactics http://www.ffshrine.org/fft/fft-midi/1-42-back_fire01.mid ---- My favorite FFT battle song |

I'm really envious of your monster skills.
I can't draw monsters! They're so hard! I love the girl with the freak arm. I dig all the compiments and all, but a look at stuff by Todd McFarlane or Joe Madureira quickly puts things into perspective, I'll tell you what. Seriously, compared to them, I might as well be drawing little pink bunnies (no offense, Rujuken Hikaroo: I've often wandered what is harder. To draw humans (at least somewhat realistically), you have to follow certain rules and/or conventions to make them look, well, human. With monsters, those rules/conventions go right out the window. They're only limited by your imagination, really. -------------------- |

T'was a late night when I fired this one off. Not too sure about it, really, but I've been feeling this need to just keep drawing, lately. I guess this thread will serve as a learning exercise as well as an outlet for my ideas...whatever, right? Edit Didn't like the last scan. Guess I haven't been paying attention to this thread. You made like 3 posts that I wasn't aware of.
You are really inventive. The two headed tentacle monster reminded me of the Ogres from Warcraft. Probably because of the stupid look the right head has. I really like the guy with the axe. He looks very well done to me. Very good character & weapon design in my opinion. And the pick with him fighting the monster is cool too. And the chick with the monster arm is still freaky. Edit: Almost forgot about the buff chick. She looks real good. Nice pose. The guy's face doesn't look the best though. Guessing you concentrated on the woman though. Well I can only hope that he, along with the rest of my art will improve over time. **Sigh** Current evidence suggests otherwise, though. Take this new image, for instance. I really see little improvement between now and 2 1/2 years ago when I first conceived of this character. This both concerns and depresses me somewhat... Demon Lady Returns -------------------- |

You should post an earlier image of her for comparison. She looks good to me. I like the outfit.
I know how you feel about improvement. I think I've hit something of a wall myself. Perhaps I need to do something different in order to improve. Don't worry about it too much. Sometimes you can spend all day trying to get something good down on paper and it just won't happen. Other times you can crank something great out in no time. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Couple new images, today, folks:
Banana Demon likes crunchy, juicy humans, oooh yes. This will be the last piece I intend to do for my character series for awhile as I intend to concentrate on a bigger drawing next. I like it except that the left image turned out noticibly darker than the right one...I'll probably redo it later. The next image is just a preliminary sketch of a more recent demon/character creation. She (yep, "she") has two "pets" that live in her body and pop out of the craters in her back. She needs quite a bit a polishing, but I thought the overall concept was cool enough to share so... here she is! -------------------- |

I'm getting an error when I click on your last pic. The window that pops up is filled with random characters and crap instead of the image.
I really like the banana demon. That is definitely something that could be a monster in a game or something. The side view of it dropping a human into its mouth is cool. As for the other one...um, eww? its pretty good, but seems kind of odd. Probably the craters in her back. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Rujuken: You didn't mention this one, so I'm assuming it's the one that (oddly) screwed up on you.
I actually like how the second drawing on that earlier post turned out, so I think I'll maintain that general design the next time I draw her, though I do have some specific changes in mind already. We'll see what happens. But, ah, I gots a new drawing to show! See the guy in the link up above? Well, the chick down below is his sister.
