The CAD forums (cad-forums.com) uses some sort of software that puts double-posts together (I think its main software is called vBulletin). I know how much the mods hate double-posting, so would it be possible to incorporate this into the CoN? I know it's possible, cause I've seen it done. How bouts it?

Idk. The mods also doesn't like senseless post-count-boosting. If I understand this correctly, you can post 50 times in a row and it'd merge it all into one post. So what's stopping people from doing that? Plus, the reason we don't really like double posting is because it's not really necessary, what with the "Edit" button that we have. Implementing this program would just inspire people to ignore the edit button even more because the all-powerful fixer-upper will take care of it.

Idk, just a quick thought I had before bed.

Isn't there a time delay between posts, Caesar? Any brat attempting to post 50 times in a row would need 50 minutes to do it, and then there'd be a quick cleanup of deleting one post.

I had an old signature. Now I've changed it.

I at first read Caesar's first bit as "Ick," which works out fine for me.

I don't know if this element retains postcount or not. If it does, then it's definitely a bad idea. If not, then it's clever at the very least.

I'm not sure if we really put enough effort into it to actually think about hacking it into these forums. If it's on vBulletin, it wouldn't translate well into our forums, and the work it would take for Tiddles and I to create it for these forums would FAR outweigh the work it takes to click the edit button, either for us OR the people who don't really bother to read the rules and then whine later about them.

We may consider moving to vBulletin in the future, as the trunk of this software has stopped growing, and Tiddles and I have, well, "issues" with Invision. We have not concluded what software we want when we transfer awy from there. But, if it's one that has this sort of feature, we'll consider adding it at that time.
