Is there something to do with gaming you're ashamed of? A really crappy game that you loved? A popular series you've never beat? A game that somehow embarassingly found its way into your collection? What is your gaming shame?
My gaming shame is that I've never beaten a single traditional mario game. I can do the kart games but in regards to platformers or even RPGs I haven't beaten a single one. -------------------- Elena Indurain Currently Playing: Suikoden II |

I think the oddest 'shame' that I have is that I made up lyrics to Doctor Mario (NES) tunes.
The most note worthy one has to be... ~We do not fart 'cuz we're state of the art~ ~We do not fart 'cuz we're staaaaaaaaaaaate~ Did I mention that I did this when the game first came out? I would say not beating FFI, II, or X. The FF games I got that I haven't beat. If it it counts as a gaming shame, I would say spending a lot of times at arcades and losing to almost everybody at fighting games and never getting the top score at others. The Final Fight games and X-Men Co-op were ones that I got my highest scores and win/loss records.

I've never actually finished a Mario game either. My sisters always did the last bit, and I haven't played a Mario game for more than an hour or so in years aside from Mario Kart for the DS (which remains unfinished, still).

I really enjoyed Fahrenheit.
I thought FFX-2 was immaculately produced and found it hard to hate. I've never completed Link to the Past. I still play Bushido Blade, it's the only good sword fighting game out there. ![]() -------------------- Whether you take the doughnut hole as a blank space or as an entity unto itself is a purely metaphysical question and does not affect the taste of the doughnut one bit. http://slightly-bitter.blog.co.uk |

gaming geek-shames:
I can recite the weakness tables for Mega Man 1-8 and Mega Man X1-X8 (not including X6 or X7) perfectly from memory. I also can tell you from memory where any of the heart tanks, sub tanks, or upgrade capsules in any of the non-X6&7 MMX games can be found. I once self-recorded an entirely beatboxed rendition of the FF VII Turks theme, but I lost the recording. Even more shameful: I want to rerecord it using seven seperate parts instead of four. Once, for a gamefaqs forum debate, I wrote a six-page essay in Word as to why Eirika is the best character in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (and I don't even think she is). general gaming shames: I needed a walkthrough to beat Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals I don't think I've ever won a single race of F-Zero GX, Burnout 3, or against my friends - I'm just laughably bad at really fast-paced driving games. I once spent a hundred fifty dollars on games in a single day: check it out -------------------- |

Possible spoilers: highlight to view On the Floating Continent, when you beat all the Naughtys and Nerapas and what now, and you have to go onto the edge of the cliff? I didn't know what to do. Quote (Rangers51 @ 18th March 2006 15:17) I run a Final Fantasy site. ROFL As for my shame... - I pulled an all-nighter in order to beat Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. - I pulled an all-nighter while playing Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance. - I pulled an all-nighter in order to beat Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. - I pulled an all-nighter in order to beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Strangely, I don't recall pulling an all-nighter to beat Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, which is my favorite among the GBA Castlevania games. On the other hand, my being able to tell you the musical keys of every single Mega Man series Robot Master/Maverick stage theme for MM1-7+X1-X3+II is not something I'm ashamed of, but proud of. Really. Same goes for things like micromanaging my FFTA clan, enjoying playing as Julius in CvAoS because I can manipulate his character very smoothly (Richter is cheap but Julius has 1337 sk1llz), being able to name the types and evolution patterns of all the first 151 Pokémon, and being generally knowledgeable of the FF series. I'm proud of being weirdly leet. I traded Super Mario RPG toward getting my PSX and some games. I don't regret getting the items that I got, but I do kind of miss the item I lost **sigh**.
I pulled an all-nighter once to beat FFVII as, like an idiot, I put the save point rather close to the beginning of that crater and I was unwilling to start over from there. Furthermore, I think two hours of that time was spent just sitting there listening to One-Winged Angel ![]() Ah, but at least I accomplished something there. I pulled many all-nighters playing Diablo II, often having accomplished nothing more than gaining a few levels and grabbing a few pieces of crappy equipment... -------------------- |

Here's another shame. I buy games and don't play them. I have 38 PS2/Gamecube games and I have only beaten like 3 of them and not even attempted like 5 of them. Countless times I have played a game for about a week and then something happens and I fall off the bandwagon and by the time I get back to it I can't remember what was going on so I have to start over. Let me also mention that doens't even county my plethora of PSX games and GBA games.
