Actually, FFIV didn't "start" till Cecil and Cain left Baron Castle - that is, if we're goin' by when the opening sequence and prologue start up.

The connectiona are very 'very' loose, I doubt it'll effect sales. The only thing that'd do that is if the quality starts to go down hill.
