Is it possible for you to save a game file on SNES and continue on ZSNES? I tried that with many times now, but most times, I got slight difference when I did that.
I can't remember all, but not long ago, I was continuing FFV game on ZSNES (caues I got my computer fixed and re-downloaded ZSNES emulator from www.zsnes.com ), and I noticed that Budz name was...well...butz, but that wasn't what I named him. Faris was level 3 Blackmage when he was supposed to be level1. Some skills was in japanese text or just random text like "E3" or just some random texts.
I was going to ignore that and just play on (cause I was too lazy to start over), but then I noticed that I already got finished getting Lenna's Dragon, but I didn't have Lenna's Dragon (basically, I was stuck in town of Kerwin and i think snes version has different name   ).
It's pretty annoying, does that ever happen to you?

WTF are you talking about?  Are you saying that you're trying to continue a game that you played on console on your computer or what?

Can you hear it breathing?
And hey, put the laptop down for a while
In the night there is something wild
I feel it, it's leaving me

Neal, he's talking about emulation. Don't worry about it.

Bismark, basically, it should either be the problem with your rom, or the game wanted it that way. It's pretty unlikely the emulator can screw up a game like that. But if you must, try downloading SNES9X instead. It works much better than ZSNES. If that doesn't work, try getting another copy of FFV. If THAT still doesn't work, try buying an SNES console and the FFV cartridge. lol

ZSNES is more compatible than Snes9x, and renders better for me (try pressing 8 to switch GFX engines if things look buggy).  I'd prefer Snes9X if they'd fix DSP-1 emulation again and sort out the sound on FF4, because I like it's bilinear filter mode 7 option.  But alas, it's the worse emulator for now, overall.

Make sure that you are using EXACTLY the same translation/version of the ROM as the games were saved on.  The English character mapping may be different in a different version for some reason.  It shouldn't cause other glitches though, but it could if you were using savestates rather than the SRAM.  Use the game's normal save/load function where possible as it's safer than savestates (keep the .SRM file).

Another possibility if you're using savestates is that you were using a different version of ZSNES before.  I don't think the format has changed though, as ancient states from the ZD archive still work.

Other than that, it's just hard luck.  Chalk it up to experience and start again.  Saving to SRAM and savestates has always worked perfectly normally for me.

Frankly, it just sounds to me like you have someone else's save file, somehow.

Why do you insist on making the most unnecessary posts possible?!  If you don't have anything new to say, then don't say anything at all!  Yeesh!
