Goodness knows there's a ton of 'em.
Of the ones I've heard (since I never completed this game): 'Apoplexy', 'Ultima, the Nice Body', and 'Ultima, the Perfect Body'. -------------------- |

Well, this is convenient.
"Antidote," which is the theme for when you're tasked to save Olan in Goland as well as, if I recall correctly, the theme for all of the colliery battles. If I could wax poetic for a moment, the main harp glissandos at the beginning always remind me of light snowfall, and with the solo woodwind interlude throughout the piece is just incredible against the tympani and chimes. Honestly, I think half the reason I love FFT so much is because its music is so similar to classical compositions, and thus isn't forced to be situational. My penultimate fave would probably have to be "Night Attack." I'm a trumpet-player (or was), but I absolutely love great drumming, and the drumming here, while kind of basic, sounds not unlike a military cadence's which gives a sense of urgency as the music fades away and the baritone noises kick back in and out. Again, a woodwind is used here above the instrumentation for great effect. I'm in love with this piece. ![]() Another good one is "Bloody Excrement," which although evocatively titled, is thunderous in headphones. The way the strings buzz like wasps against the main onslaught is really indicative of a serious situation. Other favorites o' mine: -Battle on the Bridge -Apoplexy -Run Through the Plain -Trisection (probably my third or fourth favorite) -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

I gotta' have the soundtrack 'cause I haven't a clue what the names of these songs are. I love the opening and closing songs respectively. My faves are the song that plays at my #1 favorite FFT battle (which is why I love the song) Inside of Igros Castle. The Murond Death City songs are cool as well as the theme that plays during Dycedarg's scenes, Golgorand, but my favorite has to be the song that plays durin the first Dorter Slums battle in Ch. 1.
-------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." Secret Window "Peace is but a shadow of death." Kuja |

ACK, I
![]() Others I enjoy: In Pursuit: This one's got a sad, maybe even desperate, tone to it, especially being associated with the second battle with Miluda. Honestly, I think sad tunes bring out the most emotion in me. Edit BATTLE themes...check. The Impure: A fine way to herald the Lucavi, I think. Back Fire: I just like to whistle it. I'm BIG on whistling, folks ![]() This post has been edited by Galsic on 26th March 2006 15:34 -------------------- |

Some months ago my favorite was unavoidable battle but these days I tend to prefer Apoplexy (original part 2) or if you prefer Meliadoul's battle theme.
Decisive Battle takes the second place for me. Fighting and its second version are good too but they never used it in the game (well at least in the US release). I think the only battle theme in FFT I dislike even if its not much is: A chapel. I can't feel the fighting spirit in it. ![]() All the others are worth a 9/10 minimum. My absolute favorite has to be "Cry of Pain". It's just beautiful.
