Okay, the point of this is to find out which character you felt for the most after they died. Do NOT vote for Aeris just because you wanted to see her dead.
I didn't include any FFIV characters because they all pretty much throw it down for the cause at some point or another, and FFX didn't get included because dying is so weird in that game anyway, well, if you beat it you know what I'm talking about. IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT CHARACTERS IN GAMES THAT AREN"T WARNED ABOUT ALREADY,PLEASE PUT THEM IN A SPOILER BOX Anyways, my vote is for Aeris, I actually liked her, and didn't really appreciate her getting cut down like that. -------------------- Hip-Hop QOTW: "Yeah, where I'ma start it at, look I'ma part of that Downtown Philly where it's realer than a heart attack It wasn't really that ill until the start of crack Now it's a body caught every night on the Almanac" "Game Theory" The Roots |

of these choices, i picked Leo. He was a soldier with a good heart, and he deserved to live, dammit. [but his death just makes you want to kick Kefka's ass even more]

I'd have to agree on Leo.... He's a awsome fighter, great general... Is honest and true, unlike that rotten Kefka and Emperor...

I'm voting Leo, he's a champion and sacrificed himself for the people. He was dishonourably cut down.
Aeris came close second because she had to die in order for Holy to work. |

I never knew that there were different sorts of fish (ie. just a fish,a Yummy fish! etc.) until the second time I played, so a randomly fead him fish, mostly rotten fish because they were easier to catch. When I found out that I could have saved him, I felt awfull. He' not only the one that you feel the worst for when he dies, he's also the one you feel the best for when he lives.
Unfortunately, I voted Leo before I noticed the option for Cid. ![]() |

Probably Cid, come to think of it. Since his life is in your hands, and Celes really goes crazy and tries to kill herself over it, it's especially sad.

i vote for someone not on the list, from chrono trigger, Azala, remember him? he's that semi-evil dino in the year 65,000,000 BC, the reason I feel sorry for him is that hes just a dino who is trying to make sure that his race carrys on, yet after you beat him, he decides to stay where he is (even though lavos is coming) after Ayla offers to bring him with you. he is the only villin that i have seen to actuly accept that his time is up and make no attept to change that.

I never felt that sorry for any of them except for Galuf because he was a compassionate guy and he died trying to save his granddaughter. Some of the choices I really didn't feel bad for, though I did feel bad for Aeris and a little bit for Cid. I wasn't concerned with Leo, I didn't care about Crono, and some of the others just seemed a bit forced.

I voted for Aeris, simply because she has such a great death scene, that it almost forces you to feel bad for her. A close second was Cid.
P.S. Cid can Live!?!? WOW!! ![]() -------------------- *END TRANSMISSION* |

Yes yes, if you get enough good fish to him before he croaks, he'll live. It doesn't get you anything other than the good feeling in your heart that you kept an old man alive. |

Aeris and Brahne are tied (okay, you can stop groaning now).
I love Aeris. She's like a Terra who knows the score. And beyond that, well... I just do love her. Even though her death is necessary, it makes me sad. I do agree though, that Square gave her a very fitting death-scene. Brahne also gets my vote because she dies upon her moment of realization, and she is one of the few characters in FF who has a past, present, and potential future. She had a life before succumbing to evil, which is seen in the beautiful things still left in Alexandria. She was probably a strong ruler and a strong woman, and if things had been different Brahne could probably have groomed Garnet into a really terrific queen, instead of forcing her to learn the hard way. It's just sad that Brahne died after returning to her true self. If she'd died while still under Kuja's influence, I'd probably feel differently towards her. -------------------- "Turd-cookies!...they're hot and soft, though..." Whew, tough choice.
After much deliberation, I narrowed it down to a split between Leo, Crono, and Darryl. Â I ruled out Darryl first. Â Even though her story was great and her character had great potential, she was treated too much as a footnote/character device for Setzer to impact me all that much. Crono's death had an impact on me not so much because of the tragedy, but the surprise. Â Any token hero can die off during the course of the game, but very rarely do you see a main hero, especially a Mute Hero, getting written out. Â It was a big surprise for me, and I found that his sacrifice was very noble. Â Plus, the little animated cutscene during his death sequence (in FFC only) was very cool, with fragments of Janus's cryptic, eerie message playing through. Â Plus, it was interesting that it was possible to finish the game without him. Â (Though Luminaire and the Rainbow provide great reasons for wanting to get him back.) But in the end, Leo just had to take the cake. Â It was sad seeing him go; he was such a noble soul. Â I don't think I truly despised Kefka as a villain up until that point. Â Another factor was the tragedy in terms of gameplay: thanks to Leo's untimely demise, you would never really get to use him as a playable character. Â For example, as soon as I got control of him the first time through, I was ecstatic. Â "Sweet! Â Shock is awesome! Â He's the strongest character ever!" Â And then Kefka murders him. Â One of the most profoundly speechless moments in any video game, period. Oh, and for my obligatory pot-shot against Aeris...the only really tragic thing that I can think of about her death is that it made me incapable of hating Sephiroth as a real villain from that point forward. I said Chrono mostly because you would never expect the main hero to die. Plus it was cool how you could alter the ending of the game if you decide to save him or leave him dead

Tough choice however my bias towards the crappy FF7 game rules out Aries, who I didn't actully like too much (I am a total Tifa fan)
Cid's death is really really really sad but I actully havn't had cid die in any of my games for a long long time. Daryl really wasn't around long enough to get attached to so I don't really think its that sad. And plus she knew that what she was doing was dangrous it was her choice she went out actully much like I would reaching for the stars. I don't feel that bad for chrono because he can be brought back. However his death was rather unexpected and I must say caught me way off guard. I really didn't feel that bad for Cyrus either. Especilly since his death was good for something. It helped frog see and find the power in himself. I didn't feel sorry for Brahne because while she was under Kuja's control I tend to wonder how much control Kuja really had. And good old Leo. What can I say the noble good hearted General fighting for what he thinks is right. Even when he is your enemy you have to give this guy credit he is certinly a class act. His death was meaningless empty thing it only helped show how truely evil Kefka and the emperor were. So my vote goes to Leo. -------------------- We all have our own hells and fires we must pass through, but when you have passed through them, you must ask yourself. Was I consumed by the flame? I voted for Crono.  Crono gave his lifes for his friends.  He's probably my favorite video game character.  He was the first  character to use a katana.  (Or at least admit it.  Your supreme diety only knows.)  He was also the first silent protaganist in RPG history, and his popularity was second only to Magus (hate that guy, I'm a good guy guy.)
Besides he was designed by Akira Torinama, creator of DB and DBZ. Â You ever notice he looks like Goku from DBZ? Hey...did you ever realize thier's no 'mute' status affect in Chrono Trigger? The hero's already mute! seriously. there is no way leos death was the saddest. he was a soldier, and, like those Troops from the UK and US preparing for a possible war in Iraq, he knew that the risk of the job was that he might get killed. and, as for those surprised that cid can live, i didnt know he could die... did i miss much by not killing him (i killed everything else...)
