I used Sabin in my first playthrough of ff6, but i felt he was too good by the last battle.
Much like FFT's Orlandu, sabins attacks deal massive damage, almost to a point of unfairness. by the end of the game i was just punching in bum rushes. Does anyone else think sabin is a bit too godd? -------------------- ADAEAFADAEAFAGAEAFAGAAAFAGAAABbAGAAAFAGAEAFADAEA C#ADAAABbGAAAFAGAEAFADAEAC#AFADAEAC#ADAAABbAGAA AEAFADAGAEAFADAEAC#AD |

I don't know...sure his blitzes are powerful, but do you know how many times I screw them up? At least a 1/4 of the time, Sabin just loses his turn on me

I don't think he's 'Orlandu powerful'. Then again, anyone can become walking gods of death with proper equipment, Esper stat bonuses, ultimate equipment, and maxed-out levels. But no, Sabin isn't that incredibly powerful.

Hrm...
128 MBlock Celes. Or Locke with his two defense-ignoring weapons (Atma Weapon and Valiant Knife), a genji glove, and an offering. I found Sabin's blitzes to be somewhat sub-par by the end of the game compared to the other possible tactics you were offered. He's very useful early on or during low-level games (for obvious reasons!) but somewhat loses importance near the end. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Well, unlike Silverlance, I didn't bother to max out crikey or plan out optimal equipment; I basically just equipped characters with whatever seemed the best and/or most useful equipment I had at the time of the endgame (and whenever else I bought them new stuff).
I found Sabin to be somewhat overpowered too--not that his Blitzes are too powerful (the damage they deal seems to be fair), but that they're too easy to do. I play on a keyboard, though, and I just input each direction separately (that's the only way it seems to work), so I may be cheating in that sense. Nevertheless, maybe his Blitzes should have more complicated strings of button-mashing? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Actually I don't max out my characters ever. I usually go for low-level games, where Sabin makes quite an impact.
I'm just illustrating how it's easy to blow past Sabin by the endgame. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |
