Yes, I know I flag my spoilers, but I don't trust others to. Some evil individual may spoil it all by saying
Possible spoilers: highlight to view plus some people may have wondered what all the fuss is about and started off on DVD's or whatever. If it was or is a major plot twist, spoiler tags please. They're taking the nerve gas to Isengard! I know for a fact Sky One in the UK is only on the 3rd and 4th episodes (9AM-12PM) Tonight IIRC, so Americans please bear that in mind when spoiler tagging. Aaanyway, to the point: Who watches or at least has watched 24? What do you think of the fifth season so far? Any favourite characters, scenes, seasons or episodes? As anyone who has been into chat would know, I like 24. That's why my nick on IRC is Jack_Bauer at the moment (Also matches my nick on other forums I go to). Possible spoilers: highlight to view So far, Season 5 has not dissapointed with the shocks. I felt Season's 3 and 4 were a little less effective because certain characters were invulnerable, it seemed, until the end of Season 3. Even then, certain people seemed unlikely to die. That made the opening of this season all the more surprising. I never saw those deaths coming (Well, maybe Michelle's was a little predictable). For once, the presidential subplots aren't shaping out to be boring, and since they've ran out of characters to bring back for no good reason other than Kim, Chase, and maybe a few others, the only problems I forsee is the fact that Samwise Gamgee is present and Kim's apparently returning at some point. As for past seasons, I think either 1 or 2 was the best. 1 has the bonus of not being 'save the world!!!' but rather, it's more dramatic, focusing more on a few people under threat rather than the entire city/country. Not that later seasons aren't, but Day One just has a different feel to it. Sure, the first few episodes are a little annoying with the stock footage from enemy of the state and dodgy music with lyrics, but soon, they go away and stay away. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Nina Myers. Best villain in the show by far. She doesn't do much at the macro level, but at micro, she was the biggest pain in Jack's neck. Nina is a good character, and her betrayal has a real shock factor, and unlike certain overrated evildoers with oversized swords* she doesn't need to rely on 1337 abilities, magic, or the fact fanboys of her will shout at attackers, she's simply a selfish cow. The best scenes of all seasons IMO is a tie between Nina's exit, and Chloe going rock and roll with the M4 near the end of Season 4. Anyway, thats all I have on the matter. Anyone? I'm absolutely addicted. I love the show, though only watched limited amounts of season 2 and 3 unfortunately. Last year my addiction came back in full force and haven't missed an episode since. This year the past couple episodes were getting a little rehashed and stale but wow this past one brought me right back into it. And NEXT week looks outstanding.
I absolutely despise Samwise, he is such a freakin TOOL. I mean wow, don't put the kid in coach, what were you thinking? He's not big enough to play for CTU! Anyways, this season I've really taken a liking to Bill, and especially Curtis. Curtis looks like he's going to be quite the badass next week (though I won't say why or anything, I'm confused by your post a bit but I'm guessing you mean that your only on the 4th or 5th hour? We're on 9 or 10 over in the States so). Also, how about some likenesses? President Logan = Nixon with Bush's literary skills Sec of Defense (who might make a reappearance...I hope he does) = Ted Kennedy but sober Jack bauer is the MAN. The only one that can stand up to hiim is Chuck Norris. What KILLS me though is how this season they started it off by: Possible spoilers: highlight to view Killing off President Palmer?! How could they?? He was my favorite character on the entire show. He's gotta be the top TV show President of all time! I'm not gonna lie, I'm addicted to it. I have seen every episode this season, often declining social event invites to stay home and watch it, and I've gotta admit, I love the new season. I'm not going to go into depth about it because I will never end this post, and I have to go soon anyways since it's my sister's birthday. In a nutshell:
I don't like President Logan. Palmer was better. Each season has to have that one person you hate (last season was that annoying woman at CTU), so he was the unfortunate victim this season (besides Samwise...stupid hobbit). Jack Bauer is amazing. The end. Hobbits aren't good at handling things. This new season is very gripping. Every Monday night I look forward to the next week, sometimes watching the previous hour (taped) before it airs). -------------------- Is PJ |

Loving the season so far - I have only seen season 1, and I think at this point I like season 5 better. I wasn't too disappointed by Palmer's death - people tell me he was great in seasons 2-4, but I thought his story was mind-numbingly boring in season 1 - and I had no idea who Michelle was, but I like Chloe a lot, and I love hating President Logan.
And Jack, of course, is awesome. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? And hey, put the laptop down for a while In the night there is something wild I feel it, it's leaving me |

Wow, I don't know how many saw tonight's double header, but man...I haven't been floored by a TV Show like that in a LONG while. Very riveting ending.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view RIP Edgar. Him hobbling out into the mainframe and having Chloe and everyone watching him in disbelief from the locked down Situation Room was so sad. Especially him and Chloe looking at each other as he realizes he's about to die. He was the most underrated actor on the show. I've been a huge fan of him since last season. ![]() -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

Tidu-who, you're not the only one.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view I loved Edgar. He always pulled through in tight situations, and was arguably THE most competant person working at CTU (before Chloe really picked it up this season). I felt so bad. I saw it coming, too. Once he told Chloe he was leaving to check on Kate or whoever the non-factor was, I knew he was a goner. He will be missed dearly. But wow! What a thriller! I was so into these two episodes, I was hardly able to remove myself from the chair to eat second dinner; a rare find. -------------------- Is PJ |

Yeah, tonight's episodes were fantastic. I think Season 5 may end up being the best one yet (my favorite was #2, BARELY ahead of 1).
And yeah, Jack Bauer is the baddest man alive (save for Chuck Norris). In fact, my brother was telling me that at the High School he attends, 24 has gained enough popularity for "tougher than Jack Bauer" to be a common simile. Thought that was pretty funny... -------------------- The island bathes in the sun's bright rays Distant hills wear a shroud of grey A lonely breeze whispers in the trees Sole witness to history ICO-You were there- |
