My favorite party is usually Terra, Celes, Gau, and Relm. I also like to use Sabin, Edgar, Shadow, and Strago.

Gogo, Terra, Cyan and Gau. For bosses, Gogo's typically my magic-user, Terra does what's needed, Cyan uses Quadra Slice with two weapons, and Gau's just in Wind God set up.

I honestly can't remember what I used back then.
But coming back to it, I'd say Celes, Terra, Cyan, and Sabin. Although I also like to experiment from time to time, Strago, Mog, Umaro, and Gau. Just to see what happens. -------------------- I'm not buyin' anythin'! |

I typically use the following party:
Gogo Edgar Cyan Sabin Sabin for the Bum Rush and other Blitz attacks, Cyan for Gengi Glove + Offering as well as his Swordtechs, Edgar for his Tools, and Gogo to mimic the others. It works really well, in terms of sheer power. |

I still haven't beaten it yet but my favorites are:
Locke Terra Sabin Edgar Shadow is dead in my game (he sucked in my opinion anyways) and Gogo, Relm, Strato, Gau,and Setzer are too damn boring. Occassionaly I switch up Sabin or Edgar for Cyan and Terra for Celes. But Terra is so much stronger with morph. I think mog is pointless too, just a weak dancing stuffed animal basically This post has been edited by The Bum Rush on 27th February 2006 02:16 |

For Mog- Wait until you get the Moogle Charm.
I used like, Shadow Mog Tina or Celes Gogo I believe I usually used that party. (Mog for the Moogle Charm! For Shadow- Get him to LV99, give him an Illumina, Offering, and maybe a Ribbon, and he becomes a walking invincible god. Celes can, though, so that setup would work just fine for her. As for myself, I like to use: Umaro Gogo Cyan ???? I forgot who my fourth usually is. I thought it was Celes, but I'm not sure. Umaro is my powerhouse, Gogo and Cyan both heal/attack, and the fourth usually uses Atma Weapon to deal some serious damage. Nothing special. I just like those characters. I tend to have three parties nowadays:
1. Locke (Genji Glove, Marvel Shoes, Wing Edge, Wing Edge); Mog (Dragoon Boots, Dragon Horn, Aura Lance, Genji Shield); Shadow (Marvel Shoes, Ribbon, Stunner, Genji Shield); Celes (Economiser, Marvel Shoes, Illumina, Paladin Shield). The first three have insane Speed values, Mog has 255 defence, and Celes… well, she's the character with the Illumina and the Paladin Shield. Shadow and Celes are both "safes", characters who shouldn't be eliminated too quickly, and Mog and Locke share the damage dealing role. 2. Relm (Ribbon, Memento Ring, Magus Rod, Force Shield); Strago (Economiser, Marvel Shoes, Magus Rod, Genji Shield); Cyan (Offering, Hero Ring, Sky Render, Genji Shield); Imp-Setzer (Safety Bit, Marvel Shoes, Imp Halberd, Tortoise Shield). Setzer with 255 defence, Cyan dealing all the damage, Strago casting Ultima, and Relm as my "safe" – nothing should take her out very quickly. 3. Terra (Gem Box, Economiser, Atma Weapon, Aegis Shield); Sabin (Marvel Shoes, Genji Glove, Tiger Fangs, Tiger Fangs); Edgar (Dragoon Boots, Dragon Horn, Pearl Lance, Genji Shield); Gau (Ribbon, White Cape). Gau has 255 defence and is also my "safe", as well as having mage-level Magic Power, Terra's the most terrifying spellslinger you'll ever meet, and Sabin and Edgar handle damage. I generally find that these three combinations work well together, though of course it depends a lot on the relics and equipment you use. Mog can get to 255 defence easily, Gau can get there with the help of a White Cape, and Setzer for me is the most useless and so making him the resident Imp involves little guilt, giving him 255. I like to spread that terror out, so it puts them in different parties. Celes, Terra and Strago seem to lend themselves to being spellslingers, so I keep them in different parties. Edgar and Mog make great dragoons, and I love dragoons, but two in one party is too many, so I keep them in different parties too. After that it just comes down to who seems like they'd get on better. Relm and Strago make sense, Cyan would obviously want to protect the young and the elderly (that and, as for me he's fairly weak, he gets the Offering, thus becoming very strong), Shadow and Locke make sense, etc. I can't stand Umaro, for obvious reasons. At best he can hit 9999 damage once a round, and be double-turned by anyone who uses Odin to level up (Mog Speed 106, Shadow Speed 100, Locke speed 90-something, nobody who can use Espers below 60…). 9999 is easily hit, so Umaro becomes utterly useless in just about every manner. Gogo's stats are just too low later on, and there's not that much call for a generalist unless your other three have the same specialisation. I don't like Gau much, but at least I can have him be a back-up mage. White Dragon, Retainer and NightShade all seem like fairly good rages, though (I don't like losing control though…) This post has been edited by Esponer on 5th March 2006 01:10 |

My WOR party usually consists of:
-Terra (she's my magic powerhouse, and great with physicals, too. I never give her the Gem Box, because I always go 128% MBlock with her) -Locke (Mostly for the ValiantKnife. I never use Genji Gloves, though. And stealing is fun, in a way). -Edgar (Mainly for purposes of defense, I give him Illumina usually for the MBlock) -My fourth character depends where I'm going. If I need some Lores for Strago, I'll bring him along. If I'm going up against some tough physical attacks, I'll bring Gau or Mog. If I'm looking for an actual challenge, I'll bring Sabin and not use Bum Rush. One character I DO like to use, though, and I usually get made fun of for, is Relm. I get her Ice 2s to do more damage than Terra's Ice 3s without even trying. Thus, she's my Gem Box user. That's a good thing, right? Plus, she gets that nifty Cat Hood. The character I never use, though, is Cyan. He's just always been one of the weaker characters in my game, and his weapons aren't that special in the WOR. I don't get why people love him so much. -------------------- The NEW Final Fantasy Wiki! Join us! |

Shadow - To throw the 200 Regal Cutlasses and Mythri Daggers I usually end up with.
Cyan - He's my favorite character. By this point, he knows about every spell, so I let him do the heavy magic work. Mog - I have to have a Lancer in my party. I give him the Dragoon Boots and Dragoon Horn and let him bring death from above. Sabin - Because "Blitz" is one of the greatest action abilities ever. I usually never teach him Bum Rush, but he still does just fine. -------------------- Mustard?! Don't let's be silly! |

Hm.. I never actually completed the game, but here was my choice:
Seto/Mog: I couldn't find many characters in the World of Ruin, and Mog was the fourth one I got, so he had some magicks and skills. Celes: Although she was horrible in the World of Balance, she quickly gained powers enough. Strago: Now I hate Blue Mages, but then they were all the rage. Gau: Speaking of rage, Gau was the only other character I could find. I only ever got Celes, Sabin, Setzer, Edgar, Mog, Gau, Strago and Umaro. ANd frankly, Sabin and Umaro suck like cheese. And I never knew that the only way to increase your characters' (nix HP et MP) statistics were with the Espers. When ever I play with this bunch of character together, they are unbeatable and hardly ever get hit except for one of them.
My ULTIMATE party would have to be: 1. Terra 2. Sabin 3. Umaro 4. Shadow My 2nd BEST paryt would have to be: 1. Shadow (of course) 2. Edgar 3. Terra 4. Umaro Use these teams, even when you are at level 30's /40's or higher and you will never lose a battle/boss fight!! I HIGHLY recommend using the "ULTIMATE" party when you face Kefka (1st group).
