well, sure, ramza can have two job classes and a nice stat-set from lvup/dn foolery, but cloud can have max stats just as easily from running around the world with yuffie morphing stuff into sources -- and, of course, his stats max out much higher. furthermore, 2 jobs seems really measly in the face of a cloud with master command, master summon, and master magic -- not to mention counters and nasty materia combos. what can ramza really do against a heriarchy of added cuts? hell, cloud can just throw on a final attack-pheonix, and with 255 magic, ramza better have a whole lotta hp before considering killing cloud. plus cloud just has omnislash...
ff7's easily-tweakable system aside, i see sephiroth winning this battle royale hands-down. he's the perfect soldier, after all. of course, if we're including other heroes, i would say it would come down to him, orlandu and auron. sure, guys like yang and sabin have a good chance of winning this, but auron and orlandu have simply been around longer -- and it's quite clear from there reference frame of their respective games that their old age doesn't hinder their abilities to kick some serious ass. |

As much as I love Cecil from FFIV, I'd have to vote for Butz. He's the jack of all trades with all the jobs he has mastered. Butz could call a summon, cast time magic, throw some ninja stars, and then finish it off with a Dragoon jump attack, all from the same guy.
He'd totally own Mr. Sigmund Freud and our favourite bishonen bad guy. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." "You're a total knee biter." |

Probably Leo or Beatrix, as they have Shock. Now, between the two, it's White Magic vs an Offering and high MBlock. And Beatrix also has the weakness of needing MP for her abilities, and she doesn't have much. Thus, Leo wins. -CSM

Kuja can whipe the floor with everyone on the battlefield with Ultima and powerful magic attacks as well as keeping himself healed and well-protected. He gets an added edge for being sadistic and without remorse. I especially love his unique fashion sense and the fact that he rides on a silver dragon and can command the Invincible airship. Kuja all the way, but I still pick Squall.

Cloud Strife, he has been the only character that I remember using to always hit 9999, then again we have Auron, who I don't know why I didn't choose!

Quote (laszlow @ 1st March 2006 23:35) Esper Terra is a no-brainer. You take a character with some of the best stats and equipment selection in the game, and then you massively boost all of the stats in a monstrous transformation? I'm thinking Atma Weapon, Paladin Shield, Economizer, Gem Box, and a dash of ownage. Celes has much better stats without a morph. She trumps Terra at almost everything but Magic Power. Everyone also needs to remember it's a MELEE TYPE BATTLE. Therefore, magic = not a factor. -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between. Quote (Hamedo @ 22nd February 2006 13:52) Ramza. You canpump him up to god-like proportions in the game. You can pump up other lead roles in FF games as well, but due to the levelup-leveldown availability in FFT, Ramza has a chance to become a demi-god. That trumps any other FF character that I know of. Have to agree ![]() -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

Cloud Strife. With Omnislash. Beat that.

I really really really really really( ^ 42321st power) hate to say it, but Cloud's overpowered omnislash kills everything in a ten mile radius thing he has going kinda kills them all... like a chainsaw on crack, only worse.

Out of the choices...meh, Cecil
Out of the Other category..FuSoYa...on Meteo would own anyone with 9999 damage, the upper limit on most everybody. Either that or the underrated Edge. He can throw spoons (or cleavers) at people all day. Hell even Edward/Gilbert hasd a chance with a decent bow and Hide. -------------------- This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy. Ramza to the rescue! No single character has the versatility that a man who can turn
invisible, self-resurrect, teleport, self-heal, and scream himself into untouchable lethality! He's the chucknorris of the Ivalice universe! Five votes? He must secretly be R51, a handicapping his category by an exponential set, to keep the other candidates in the running. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Bear in mind, too, that he survives the end of his own game! He's such a good ninja, you have to search for him in the final fmv to know he's alright. Not even his own universe could break him down! This post has been edited by A11smart on 8th July 2006 19:08 -------------------- Putting the A's in W lm rt: A11smart, Jobclass: Retailer. |

I find it too hard to judge because of the apples-and-oranges fighting styles from each game and the complete randomness of the poll list.

After seeing how broken some of the later FFs' battle engines are, I'd say whoever gets the first hit in would win.
![]() No, seriously, I mean... taking out Emerald with all those mime materias? That's just sick. And the good 'ol Genji Glove/Offering trick? Granted whoever'd get an X-Magic or Quick'ed Vanish/Doom off would also win. Then you've got the later FFs where damage piles up past the 9999 mark and frankly, you're just sitting there wondering... what about the lil' dudes from FF1 whose HPs barely tipped the 999 scale? I'd say Marlene from FF7 would totally own the battlefield. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |
