i sometimes see people getting warned and then banned, but i just never seem to see people doing the wrong stuff or getting caught in the act of certain things.

i guess my biggest wonder is one guy in particular, i forget the name offhand, was banned for "trying to beat the system", which i thought was kinda cool how rangers said how he was banned, though his description was rather cryptic. the guys definitely got an iron fist, i can say that. i think thats pretty cool.

well i guess some, or all of these things would fall into the "none of my business" file, but i was just wondering if anyone wants to answer.

The most common reason for people to get banned recently is signing up and making 10 spam posts, which don't add anything to the community and are often plain offensive, just to take the quiz.

The quiz is for members of the community ONLY.  If you don't like forums, and you don't want to be a contributing member, that's fine, but you have to understand that the quiz is not for you.

Other than that people usually get warned or banned for offensive language or behaviour, bashing other people etc.  You might be able to find the flashpoint post far enough down the thread list, if you're that interested.

There will be a list of guidelines as to why this happens and what we should do about it.  This is "Coming Sometime".

I have to agree with you therandyrhoads. I thought that was inventive, If you know how he tried to beat the system.
                                                    If I remember right he did something that we don't want people to know.  I would congragulate him if he was still hear............Not saying what he did was a good thing I just liked his good thinking.......... ..........

i think its funnier when rangers closes up threads by new ppl
cause theres somethin wrong with the topic..
like when some guy posted in creations and said he was going
to post some drawings or something, so he closes.
then the guy made another topic saying sorry for not posting it
then so he closes that one too.

The fellow's name was "Interceptor", if I remember correctly.  A pity such a good handle was ruined by misuse.

Anyway, the main reason for a lack of evidence is mostly because the administrators end up deleting the spam and/or inappropriate posts after the offender was banned.

Either that, or it's part of a huge conspiracy where R51 takes over the world, with Elena and Neal as generals and Tiddles as the guy who eats people who don't agree with him.  I can hear the black helicopters now.

oh and by the way, just in case anyone is wondering, i was just looking around and the guys name WAS interceptor, and his plan to "beat the system" was he just was trying to make lots of inane posts to raise his rank or something. kinda like spamming, just more obnoxious. and THEN just to put the icing on the cake, josh (presumably josh anyway) gives him -300 posts

You know, people that try and beat the system always gets caught and banned. I remember a certain friend of mine that caused a lot of problems on the boards and was banned...what, 6 times with 6 different users?

Nonetheless, the moderators shouldn't have to go to everyone and say "WELL, soandso did suchandsuch and was needed to be banned or warned." The people that spam know they're in the wrong, and most everyone on here knows that as well. The moderators got to be the moderators for a reason: Kind, responsible, and smart. They know what's right and wrong, so don't worry about if you see someone OTHER than yourself get banned or warned.
