huh.gif Y'know, I've been kind of wondering what race Magus is. His mother was human, and so was his sister, apparently..But the pointed ears aren't really typical of a human. Just wondering.

All the people of Zeal, I believe, who are Enlightened have pointed ears, possibly due to their magical abilities.

IIRC, the game seems to say he's a Mystic, but I'm not 100% sure. Been a while since I've played it. Or it could be the fact he grew up around them (which makes about as much sense as none at all, but it's a game.)

Either way, he's from Zeal, and anything else is just fluff added by the developers to make him appeal more to the easily-influenceable crowds.

Magus is Human. As for the pointy ears, I can offer a possible explanation: after undergoing training in "the dark ways of the Mystics", Magus could have transformed his appearance to make himself look more, you know, badass, since he was the ruler of the Mystics. But it's only one of many possible explanations...

Here's what Chrono Compendium has to say about Magus.. Warning: EXTREME SPOILERS, click at your own risk!

I actually sorta' agree with the 'twisting of his features due to the study of Dark Arts' thing. It's reminscent of the Sith in Star Wars, and how their physical appearance alters the more they use the Dark Side. A reflection of their power, so to speak.

That seems adequate to me.

If he were a mystic, he'd have more than pointy ears. He's a human from Zeal.

I with Silverlance. He's from Zeal, everything else is creative license.
