All the people of Zeal, I believe, who are Enlightened have pointed ears, possibly due to their magical abilities.

*Hands DCnK a nail-file...*
IIRC, the game seems to say he's a Mystic, but I'm not 100% sure. Been a while since I've played it. Or it could be the fact he grew up around them (which makes about as much sense as none at all, but it's a game.) Either way, he's from Zeal, and anything else is just fluff added by the developers to make him appeal more to the easily-influenceable crowds. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Magus is Human. As for the pointy ears, I can offer a possible explanation: after undergoing training in "the dark ways of the Mystics", Magus could have transformed his appearance to make himself look more, you know, badass, since he was the ruler of the Mystics. But it's only one of many possible explanations...

I actually sorta' agree with the 'twisting of his features due to the study of Dark Arts' thing. It's reminscent of the Sith in Star Wars, and how their physical appearance alters the more they use the Dark Side. A reflection of their power, so to speak.
That seems adequate to me. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Greg |

I with Silverlance. He's from Zeal, everything else is creative license.
