Got it two days after it came out, so 1994. Of course, I haven't played it since probably 2001.

I got it shortly after it came out. I traded it a few years later for Chrono Trigger, so one great game begat another great game.

Christmas 2004. I've only played it for a few months and it's one of my favorite games of all time.

Fifth grade, in 1996 (maybe early '97, but I remember I wanted it for Christmas, so I think '96...). After getting Anthology for the PS1 four or five years later I gave FF VI (and Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and Earthbound) to my friend Patrick.

I null voted, for I, too, began playing it on that fateful Christmas morning in 1994. Eleven years, then. I've played it about twice a year.

I'm a latecomer, so I finally got hold of my copy... whenever it got released in the UK. I think it was around 2002, though that definitely seems a little too long ago.

Between 1994 and 2002, the only Final Fantasy I owned was Final Fantasy IV (II US Version). In 2002, I went up to Blockbuster after finally getting a PS1. (Yes, I know, the PS2 was out by then). I rented, and burned a copy of Final Fantasy VII, the worst Final Fantasy ever. Although it blew big donkey balls, I eventually bought it and Anthology on the same day at Best Buy. Since then, I have purchased every Final Fantasy you can buy in North America.

So, twenty-oh-three.

I started playing FFVI, you know, renting it, in 1995, but I actually owned it in 1996. Sad thing is, I hven't beaten it once yet, and I'm old enough to solve most any game by now. X_X

A friend at school and I borrowed each others games. Luckily for me, he never returned F-Zero. That was back in 1997.

The summer before I turned 16, 1997. My friend lent it to me, and then later she lent me FFIV.

I played it again recently, but that was the Anthology version. After playing FFVI back then, I wrote my first fanfic and it was posted here. cool.gif It's not there anymore, I took it down a while ago.

'94. That November, to be exact; a month after it came out, if I remember correctly. I couldn't wait 'til Christmas. tongue.gif

I first played it during the christmas holidays of 1994 at my best friends', who had found it at an import video games dealer, but my father brought me a copy of FFII and FFIII the next summer. I would have said 1994, but I voted 1995 because that's w<hen I had my own copy (plus you can't vote 1994 happy.gif)

I was in first grade... That's 9, years ago, maybe 8 1/2. I'd say '97, then.

Of course, I didn't catch up on all the plot twists and really didn't read much (Because I was still in the midst of learning it, I reckon), so I thought Celes liked Shadow and was totally unaware of Relm's father. Also, I though when Edgar's technique was "getting a bit rusty" it meant something along the lines of him fixing up his castle machinery. XD

For me it's hard to say, I first played it on my emulator on my old desk top computer which I'm guessing is around 2001, but it f'd up and I finished it when I got my current laptop about 3 years later. Yup, I had to wait around 3 years before I could beat the game!

I was still in 8th grade when I first started playing it. Probably 1994 or early 1995. I was a FFVI girl by the time I started my freshman year high school in 1995 (always drawing fanart!).

I started about a year after I learned about emulators, so 2000-ish?
A year after that was when I started keeping up with video games again, so I missed out on FFVI when it came out.

I bought the cartridge for myself a few weeks ago online for half of what the guy at the Flea Market wanted.

I download the ROM for the game in the Summer of 2004, but the ROM got deleted. A friend of mines at summer school was buggging me about downloading Final Fantasy III/VI alone with Chorno Trigger. Another friend had download both games and they were tellin me how tight and great the game was and so on. So I gave up and downloaded it late 2004 or ealry 2005. Final Fantasy III/VI is maybe the only game I play on my SNES emulator these days.

i voted 1995, but I think it may have been earlier.
Only it was my brother playing it, while I always sat beside it and watched. I guess you could say that we played it together, only, he was the one who held the controller.
I was some kind of one-digit age.

I must have been in middle school or so...so I guess I would have been about 13...which would make the year 1996. I'd read about Final Fantasy II in some book about video games and subsequently become obsessed with it. At some point during seventh or eighth grade, a friend of a friend of my mother's called me to babysit for her two children, one of whom was only a grade behind me. He had Final Fantasy III. I hadn't even realized that it existed. He showed me how to play it while I was supposed to be watching the little kid. Oops.

I'm not sure when I finally owned it. I remember asking for it for Christmas one year. It was all I wanted, but my parents couldn't find it. I was disappointed on Christmas morning, but I didn't throw a fit, and my mom felt really bad, so she kept looking and I got it for my birthday. happy.gif
