OK. I was wondering if anyboddy could tell me how you record yourself playing a game. I'm using a VHS, because i don't have rewritable DVD thingies. Using a camera is pretty bad 'cos it messes up the screen on the playback. I've tried sticking wires from my PS1 into the VHS, but it comes up all fuzzy on the playback.

Help would be very much appreciated.

In the one or two instances that I've recorded gaming footage on a TV-based console, I simply hooked up to the biggest, highest-res television I had access to, and then used a digital camera to record a .mpeg file (I think... it might have been a .avi file). The vid quality was WAY better than a VHS camcorder could have done, but wasn't perfect. I lost those files with the untimely demise of my hard drive a month ago or so, though.

Hmm. I was actually gonna record it on a VHS video player, but i might try that instead. It's just every time i see a video filmed with a camera, it's always shaky and lines go up the screen.

I used to do this quite a bit, but I never had any real problems in doing it to VHS. I'd suggest maybe using the slowest tape speed possible to maximize quality, if British VCRs actually have that option. Beyond that, if you're going from the RCA plugs on a PSX to RCA jacks on your recording device, it should be okay, I'd guess.

Video capture on your PC is the wave of the future, though. wink.gif
