I've been busy dumping enemy AI scripts lately and now have quite a lot of junk to sort through. And I'm left here wondering, what am I going to do with it? Sure, all that info is great fun to read through and to sort out, but what's it going to bring to anyone?
I considered writing a very in-depth enemy skill faq, complete with percentages and the likes. Code L4 Suicide Mu - Has roughly a 6-7% chance of casting it on any given turn. Trickplay - Has roughly an 8-9% chance of casting it on any given turn. Magic Hammer Razor Weed - Will never use this short of being controlled. White Wind Zemzelett - Will never use this short of being controlled. Wind Wing - If Wind Wing lost any HP and has at least 34 MP, it will cast White Wind. However, this is only possible once it has lost 50% or 75% of its health, or on a 25% chance on startup. White Wind will only be cast once but if a condition is met again, it will be re-enabled (for instance, knocking it down from 50% to 25% of its health, or back to 50% once it has healed itself.) Then I thought, instead of doing this, why not make an enemy AI faq? It'd be far more useful to list out the exact mechanics behind every enemy/boss in the game than just the ones related to enemy skills. Hell, I have the info, why limit myself to just a few simple things? So before I launch into the monumental task this will turn out to be, who's interested? Am I just wasting my time or would anyone feel like it'd benefit them? Should I just keep this stuff in script format for my own use? -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I think it would be rather interesting. If I'm not mistaken this basically lets you predict what an enemies move may be, and that could be helpful in tricker fights.
Plus it's also information. Information is knowledge. Knowledge is power. Power runs electrical fans and air conditioning. This will be very useful come summertime. ![]() -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Well, it might not be complete until the summer time (I'll make period releases every once in a while though) so I think we all win.
![]() Don't forget that air conditioning during the summertime means you can be more active instead of lazying about while overheating. More activity means more work. More work means more money. More money means a better economic situation. A better economic situation means our salaries go up. Bigger salaries mean even more money. Large amounts of money mean I can make my army of tequilla-powered zombie pinecones a reality. Help me take over the world; support the faq! ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Meh, I started work on something. Dunno how it'll look in FF, but it worked fine in IE for me.
