I always assumed Zot was a tower that was high up in the sky; sort of floating there. I mean it's possible. Golbez was a pretty powerful dude. It would also explain why Valvalis was there, and it also why when she died it collapsed. If she had power over the air, then you know, when she died the tower took a dive.

I must say that this is the way I've always percieved it. Also considering the fact that when the Enterprise goes to the tower, it always goes straight up.

I never really thought about the progression of time in RPGs too much until I played a game called Legend of Dragoon. I believe there was a single reference to the amount of time the party had been travelling on foot during a cut scene. All of a sudden, I looked at all the Final Fantasy games that way. I don't know of a single one that makes references to the amount of time a particular trip lasts or whatever. But you have to use your brain and know that you couldn't travel the entire world, even if you had your own airship, in a mere 10-20 hours. In my opinion, an adventure like this in real life would take at least 2 years.

I find that the lack of detail in many cases, while upsetting to some, leaves open the opportunity to use your imagination and mold the characters to the way you want them to be. I like it this way. And because of that, I suppose I am a blasphemer of the RPG religion where everything is explained in detail.

I never knew that the king of Baron actually died. I always assumed that the ethereal spirit of Odin just chose him through circumstace for a willful possession. I sometimes wondered if the king didn't coax Odin to do such a thing anyway as a means to reclaim the throne. After all, Odin would've beat the tar out of Cagnazzo anyway.

I, too, also wondered how King Baron suddenly became a summon. It didn't make much sense.
