It's about the weather actually. Some people like the heat, others like the cold.

Personally I like the cold, because it's much easier to throw a blanket on than for you to lower the temperature. When you're poor like us and can't afford central AC, the summer becomes a time of loathing and discomfort. Gimme a cold winter day with a warm blanket anyday. As far as deaths go, freezing to death is much more pleasant than burning too.

Cold, I guess. All through the winter, I have windows open, and I'm not really partial to sleeping under the covers, either. In the summer, I sit around the house with the lights turned off and the fans turned on. It's like a mini-eclipse in my house while everyone gets baked to a crisp outside.

Being an outdoorsy kinda person (although you wouldn't think it, the amount of time I spend here), and living on an island without malls and other such places, more often than not the most enjoyable way to spend a day is down the beach, and that's just not enjoyable if it's freezing cold. I love strolling about in the summer, or relaxing with a CD player. Living where I do, the heat just allows me to do so much that I can't in winter.

I prefer the cold since going on walks at night is a hoby of mine i got very used to the night weather.

I guess I like the hot weather better than I do the cold. Cold make me lethargic. I can stand the heat as long as the humidity isn't high. A dry heat is just right. I'm perfectly comfortable in 95 degree weather. Ninety really feels good, and is just perfect. Anything above 105 is too hot, and I can feel every degree it gets hotter than that.

I like cold. Not cool, cold.

Usually 45-50 degrees is a good temparture for outdoors in the daytime. Maybe I've just grown used to it living in Colorado. However, I usually like to have a pretty warm room, maybe around 75 degrees. Then again, I can't make it any colder withour AC in my room. : (

Hot, hot, hot.

Although, honestly, it's not so much the heat I like in itself as the sunshine and leafy pleasantness that tend to accompany hot summer days. I'm happy if it's warm, though I'm not too upset if it's scorching... until I come inside AFTER being out. That's when heat is really a problem, I find.

Best of all is nicely warm with a light breeze, for me. It's also worth noting that this preference for heat only encompasses the kind of heat you get in England, which I understand is kind of a junior heat compared to what some of you folks might be used to.

Also... how can I say this without sounding seedy? Erm. Girls wear less on hot days.

Yes, cold is preffered. Pretty much for already stated reasons. In the hot, when you are hot, you are nude, you have no covers, a fan and an open window, and still hot, it sucks. No sleep for me that night. Nothing you can do.
In the cold, you can snuggle up, turn the fan onto heat (I have a fanheater in my room. Oldskool), close the windows, have a coco, whatever. If your still cold, just throw on another blanket. Sorted.

Cooler temperatures are better than warmer temperatures because you can always dress to counter cold, but your ability to undress to counter heat is somewhat limited.

That and winter totally rocks summer.

Cold stinks. I can't handle it, which is not good seeing as how it's snowy here from october through may. sometimes we get a break in january, when the temperature rises above freezing for a couple weeks! like clockwork. the past couple of years here it's been raining all summer though. i haven't had more than a weeks worth of hot weather to bask in for ages. i'm a very sad girl sometimes.

i like the cold because you can wear large clothing, like sweatshirts and pants and...gloves.

but with heat, your have to sit around like a pig and turn on fans and air conditioning and...gloves.

plus the cold is an excuse to not go outdoors.

I like the heat ! I like it cuz It starts up the basketball league i play for in the summer. It also gives nice days to jog and walk my dog. The heat is nice to have.!

I hate the cold. Hate hate hate hate hate. I find I'm more susceptible to cold than others (Bad circulation perhaps?) So even on fairly warm days, I'll generaly be huddled up inside being miserable. Around mid-summer the temperture finaly reaches a tolerable high, but it doesn't last long, sadly.

Not that cold weather doesn't have it's niceties. I love snuggling up under warm blankets, or poking a fire, but I'd trade it for a day spent lying in the sun in a heartbeat.

i am indifferent about that

the thing that bugs me is when the air gets humid or really dry

when it's humid my cardiovascular doesn't do as well as it normally does
and when the air gets dry, i get chapped lips (not recently, but until i discovered the best lip-hydrarant, couldnt call it chap stick it's something different, i had chapped lips every fall, now happily i never get chapped lips)

I prefer the heat. I'm extremely cold-natured, to the point that even 60º indoor temperatures cause me to shiver and chatter my teeth nearly non-stop. It's not so bad outside during the day at that degree, given the warmth of the direct sunlight. Seems that whenever everybody else is shedding their clothing down to short sleeves and shorts, I'm piling on the heavy coats and snow pants. I'll even jump in the shower with the hot water turned to full blast and soak for 'round thirty minutes when I'm desperate, such as during those frequent times when extra clothing and blankets just don't do the trick. And if I'm sick, like with the cold or flu? Hoo boy - you could just 'bout break my limbs clean off with the slightest tug, 'cause every inch of me might as well be frozen stiff through and through.

When I was growing up, my mom almost constantly kept the air conditioner and/or several fans running throughout the house... even in winter! Although she was always slim as a pencil, she was very hot-natured, so I obviously suffered a great deal 'cause of that.

But don't get me wrong; I actually love wintertime. It's my favorite season outta the year, by far! I even enjoy the cold weather it brings, being its most distinctive quality after all ('sides all the bare trees, snow 'n' stuff). But literally standing in the cold for more than four seconds feels pretty much like death to me, so I tend to 'enjoy' it in very small doses.

I prefer the cold. More so cool weather (perfect soccer weather), but I'd take cold over hot any day of the week.

Pfft, the cold as good footballing weather? Forget about it. The best weather for soccer is an overcast sky around 75 degrees.

Although my body is a walking furnace (I'm most comfortable indoors with temperatures around 65 degrees), I generally prefer the heat. I live in a state that goes from extreme heat in the summer (well over 100 degrees) to extreme cold in the winter (occasionally below 0). After years of going through both, I've decided I prefer the extreme heat to the extreme cold (especially seeing as I never sunburn and I love swimming).

I prefer the cold. For me, its easier to work on stuff. Plus, you don't have to mess with the temperature, like Kane said.

I really can't make up my mind. I get incredibly cranky when it's too hot. But I lose feeling in my fingers really fast when it gets too cold. I just can't win.

living on that small island off the coast of france (Britain), I generally prefer hot weather. Cold often means rainy and/or damp, and I hate having colds at this time of year. When (or if) the weather turns sunny it's really pleasant most of the time, and if it's too hot you can just lounge around sunbathing. I loath the winter as it makes my hands numb, and we seldom get snow before January.

Cold.

Hot weather means sweating. Sweating makes me feel unhygienic. I don't like that feeling. I can stand a lot of feelings; unhygienic isn't one of them.

Hot. I sweat year-round all the time anyways, so I don't mind it too much. Plus, hot weather means that I can play tennis and ping pong; you can't do that in the cold unless you play indoors or are cold-blooded. That's my main reason. There's also the fact that my room has no heat, but the fan works well there and the window is always open (no seriously, it doesn't close. It's busted somehow. That means that in the winter, my room gets really freakin cold). Oh, and in case both of those fail to work, there's always my pool.

So yea. Cold has snowball fights and the binary blanket going for it, but still, the hot outweighs it.

Give me the good ole cold. Growing up in Cleveland you grow used to the cold weather and the lake-effect wind and snow. Besides we are a football city so there is nothing better then a game of football in the coldness of fall or in 4 inches of snow. Unfortuantly I might have to move out to Vegas for a teaching job so I have to put up with the dang heat.

I think its kind of funny what the cold people are saying about it being a cold at 0 degrees. Since I live in Northern Ontario, I know what cold is. It peaks to about 100 degrees in summer for about a month and drops down to about -40 degress celcius in the winter for usually... 3-4 months. So for my vote, it definately goes for hot, very VERY hot.

For reasons already stated, I like the cold. According toSilverFork's way of looking at things, I guess I'd be very 'hot-natured.' Aside from being confortable in very cold weather, I enjoy it on two other levels:

Heat is oppressive and inescapable. It sits heavy on the mind, and I often feel my attention disipating when it's to hot. The cold, on the other hand, always seems to sharpen my mind. Everything seems clearer when it's cold.

Winter (or just cold in general, like when it rains) is my time. People generally don't come out as much, so the outdoors are left to me. You feel like you own the world when everyone else is huddled beneath umbrellas, or in the shelter of entryways, and you're walking with your head held high.
