I was suprised about Snake. I was hoping for something more... Nintendo centered... I mean, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has like, one game for GC? I wanted Chibi Robo personaly. Kickin' butt on a small scale! Booya.

I don't really like Zero Suit Samus... I prefered Samus back when she looked andgrogenous and didn't have a skintight suit on. I mean, part of Samus's apeal was not being skanky, but a girl who could get things done.

I love the puppies too, but they have announced plans to keep all of the older characters and add in the 5 mentioned plus around 10 other unveiled characters!

This makes me wonder? Olimar? Pikmin? Sonic? Shadow? Maybe even a final fantasy character! They could be daring and include a castlevania style characer like Soma, or plug in a palette swap which could include seeing the character's possible 8-bit or 16-bit looks to battle with, still withholding their 3-d attacks, like G&Watch! Awesome!

I might have said this before, but what about some Japanese character that we've never even heard of before? Like how most people didn't know about Fire Emblem until Roy and Marth's apperance, (laslow's one of the only people I've heard of that played an FE before SSBM). Anyone know any characters from popular franchises that are only on Japanese shores?

NO! Not Ice Climbers, why not Mewtwo? Or Peach? Or both? Hopefully Nintendo will make up for it with a better character. I personally think there should be more ninja-like characters, I mean Sheik was cool, but there are better ninjas out there, I was hoping Hanzo Hattori from Samurai Shodown would make an appeareance, but seeing as how bloody the Samurai Shodown series is its not possible. Or maybe Goemon from Ganbare Goemon (aka Legend of the Mystical Ninja). I wouldn't mind seeing Bomberman in Brawl as well, and it wouldn't surprise me, the Super Bomberman series for the SNES were some of the best games in the series. I would also like to see Toad/Toadette.

It's been a while since I played an MG game, but I'm pretty sure the Metal Gear Solid games where quite bloody too

And if you want a ninja, how about Raiden? He has quick martial art attacks, a potential cyborg sword, if going with the MGS4 trailers, and we all know of his alternate "costume".

I still think Electrode should be a new character. He'd be nasty. He would have no jump, his B attack would be Rollout, and all the directional B attacks would be some variation of Exploder (Self-Destruct, Exploder, and....something else). He would be my new main character without a doubt.

Here's a nifty translation of a Sakurai interview. The most intriguing bits are that there are going to be a tentative 1-2 non-Nintendo characters other than Snake, all of the non-Nintendo characters will be unlockables, and every single non-Nintendo character has to have appeared on a Nintendo platform at some time in its gaming career. Fair enough. Mega Man still stands a chance.

Oh, and Ultros, Snake's first game was none other than Metal Gear for the NES. He has a history with the big N.

The one character i definatley want to see removed is Pichu, If he is still there while character like G&W were removed, I'll be slightly dissapointed, then continue playing as Link.

I'm also one of the people hoping Megaman will be in Brawl, I remember being a little kid anr renting the megaman games (never bought them, me and my brother were able to beat them within the rent period). I think it'd be cool to also have Zero. Although I think it's be cool if Ryu Hayabusa made an appearance, Even if he already is in DoA I've always loved the Ninja Gaiden games.

Finished NSG FFX, Playing FFIV again.

Well, the Sonic series is pretty much a Nintendo series these days anyway.

I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I'm hoping for some character like Simon Belmont, Julius Belmont, or Alucard. The latter two for their movesets; Simon for his general awesomeness (and starring on two NES games and one SNES game).

I haven't used Pichu much, but Pichu seems like a clone of Pikachu.

While having Mega Man would be cool, I somehow doubt it, and believe that Capcom's probably going to try to stick with its own version of full-company-series-parties in the form of Capcom vs. Someone Else.

I've also heard a bit of rumor that Zero Suit Samus will be a switchable character, not a distinct character, the way that Sheik and Zelda are switchable. Anyone know if this is true at all? I hope that ZS Samus will be a distinct character, personally.

The addition of Ridley intrigues me as to how different Nintendo is willing to go with its characters. Celda Link is nice, he can just replace the relatively useless Young Link, and Bowser Jr. has always been an enjoyable character for me in the Nintendo Sport games.

What I'm really curious about is how deep and how obscure is Nintendo going to dig. I have hope that they will pull some surprises, I mean, the had Ness in the first game and now they have introduced Kid Icarus. At the same time, I think it would be stupid if it was just some obscurely cult Japanese character. Or maybe cool, who knows?

The guessing game can be fun, but I'm really just sitting tight until the announcements are made.

Actually I'd love to see Frog or Ayla
frog would add another left-handed swordsman to the mix. And Ayla is one of my all-time favorite Square characters.

Imagine Frog could use his tongue for his throw move, He'd be an awsome addition.

Well, GMH, Squenix BOUGHT Taito a few weeks ago, just so you know. And I have no idea where you're getting those three particular companies in mind for SSB characters.

For some reason I'm thinking that Capcom and Bandai Namco characters have decent shots of making it in, because those two companies have had a very strong history of producing for all available consoles. Squenix not so much, as they've all but ignored the Gamecube in recent years (just look at the GC's Squenix library and compare it to the PS2's Squenix library).

My 3 favorite things are Squenix, Nintendo, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl! The Wii system looks really neat and what should go along with it? None other than the famous Super Smash Brothers series!! YAY!! Finally, another SSB coming out but it's going to come out in 2007 (Darn, and I thought the game was almost at hand for taking control of it)!

Still, GBA and the DS are building up a decent Squenix library themselves, with remakes of the older games (FF 1 & 2 Dawn of Souls, FF4 Advance, FF6 Advance, FF3 DS) and KH: CoM, and there's going 2 B another Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles on the Wii, I hear.

I also expect at least one character from Namco's "Tales" series. Those are usually on Nintendo consoles. (Praying for Kratos from ToS!)

I think it would be cool if they DO put Mother 3 characters in SSBB. I don't know what makes Claus so special (and I don't WANT to know until I find out myself) but any Mother 3 characters would make me happy.
