If I recall correctly, the spell you want to use on Baigan is lightning, not fire. I've also heard that ice works. It's a pretty easy fight in the American version (and I don't think he casts reflect then), so I'm assuming this is the Chronicles version.

Your party is Cecil, Palom, Porom, Yang, and Tellah, right? First of all, if you're using Twin, forget it. Open up the fight by having Palom and Tellah cast the strongest lightning spells they can, hopefully before Baigan puts up Wall. Don't bother killing the arms unless you're worried about having someone dead at the end of the battle and not getting experience. If you are worried, Yang should kick; otherwise, Yang should use his special (I don't remember the name) or use potions to heal. Cecil should attack or use potions to heal. Porom should use magic to heal until she runs out, and then use potions.

At some point, Baigan hastes himself. This means that reflect wore off, so you can lay into him with the magic again. Tellah only has enough MP for 3 Lit3s, so either plan on saving his magic for that, or on using an ether to help him out.

I hope this helps. happy.gif Baigan was a tough fight.

Baigan was pretty easy. Just make Cecil at lvl 26-28 (thats what I recalled me party was) and have Tellah Bolt3, cecil attack, Porom use cure, Polom use bolt2, and yang attack. easy.

You can get around his reflect spell by casting reflect on one of you own party members and using your spell on them.

My advice is Cast reflect on one of your own Characters. Then kill an arm. Have tella cast lit 3 on the reflected character. 50-50 chance. Even if you miss just have palom cast bolt 2 on the same reflected Character.
Its never failed for me.

Have the first thing Tellah do is cast Lit3 on just Beigan. Then he will get his Reflect.
Have Yang and Cecil attack. Don't bother with Build Up, since it is 2x the power in two turns. It's only good for taking out an enemy with slightly more HP than Yang's regular attack so it doesn't counter.
Take out the front arm so there is only two attackers, but don't take out the other one, since he will regenerate them (plus when Beigan's gone that just leaves you with one arm to take out before they explode).
Use Palom, Porom, and Tellah (until Reflect wears off) as healers.
If Dispel is in Chronicles, it would probably be called Dispel. But I think Porom learns it at a very high level, and Tellah doesn't learn it at all (along with Shell and Protect).

I played FFIIus, and I remember that Baigan was remarkably easy. What I simply did was attack the left arm, then when that fell, the body, then when that fell, the right arm, all with physical attacks. I don't remember having much trouble, although it seems to make sense that you have to do something involving either killing the body to keep the arms from regenerating or killing the arm(s) first in order to damage the body or something like that. Baigan does use Wall, so if you want to use magic, keep track of what enemies/characters already have wall on them and fool around accordingly, but carefully.

sleep.gif Take out his most powerful arm or just whicheverone you want then pump his main body full of electricity (your most powerful version, Bolt 3 I think or lit 3) then finish off his last arm. If this doesn't work kill one of his arms like before and then cast reflect on one of your characters (preferably the one with the least health) and get Tellah and Palom to use lightning magic on your reflected charater and hit Baigan or his arm, if you hit his arm just attack his main body as much as possible and when his arms come back just repaet this method and always get Porom to heal on all of her goes and every one in two goes get Cecil to use cure 2 on the team.

Make sure that only 1 arm dies, leave the other. If you destroy both then he will ressurect them sad.gif to get around the reflect thingy, use reflect on yourself and then throw everything you can at...YOU!

I remember that he was remarkably easy, since Palom has the capability to turn the second level elemental spells far more brutal with Boast. I used it a few times, and Palom was doing almost as much damage as Tellah. When he casts Reflect olnto himself, just have the twins either normal attack, concentrate on healing, etc. Tellah should Beserk Cecil and Yang anyway.

this fight was pretty easy on the hard type.. of course my characters were 40 to 50 in there levels. even the hard type can be easy if you try. i just attack and use lit on him.. then have the other twin cure when needed. took me about 2 or 3 turns to kill him for each character
