okay, im at the begining of the 3rd chapter(after the people at the table are tallking about taxes and such) and i have no idea what is going on. i know there is a mnu option about he plot but i am so hopelessly stupid i don't get that either.

They're trying to tip the scales on a stalemate instead of calling a truce. Basically both sides are on the verge of starving themselves out, but the struggle for power is more important than the people's well-being.

thats helpful too, but i wasn't payng attention for chapters 1 and 2 either. mostly what i was confused about was the whole princess kidnapping thing.

OK well let's see... each side has someone they want to put on the the throne. Goltana wants the princess and Dycedarg some other dude, hence the power struggle. As for the kidnapping, that was to protect her life until she can be crowned. Only problem is the Princess is a double, as she recently learned, and the real princess died as a child. This means the "Princess" is intended to be used as a puppet, controlled by others behind the scenes.
