My first encounter with CoN was about four years ago, when I searched for Final Fantasy VI using a search engine on a whim. It was back with the dark layout of CoN3, and I was impressed at the effort and organization put into the website.
I posted a couple of things on the message board under the name Super Moogle, and it stuck. (To this day, I regret not using Bat Moogle.) I waited for a while during the CoN's metamorphosis into CoN4, and was one of the people first in line to sign up for the new message boards. And, well, here I am. Seems like it's been a lot longer than that, for some reason. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Umm...I think... I found CoN through a search engine. Or maybe through a link on another website. I'm not sure. All I remember is that I was looking for FF6 screencaps so I could change the dialogue and put in funny captions, and CoN back then had a treasureload of such screencaps. And Josh said I could use them. And I joined the forums out of gratitude. And all was well with the world.

I found this site by seaching on google for stuff about FFIV. I'm a big fan of FFIV and always looking for new sites about it. It is not usual that I find a site and get drawn into it. This is only the second site about FFIV I've joined.
Yay for this site. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." "You're a total knee biter." |

I just surfed in one day to the CoN3-it was actually the rumor mill that drew me in at first. When the site closed down for the creation of CoN4, I discovered the forums, and started posting under the monomer of Dinoman.
When the site came back up, I signed up, but, as I spent almost no time online back then, my account was soon cancelled. I returned under the monomer of Shapeshifter, but alas, the same thing happened again. So now I'm Divine Dragon, and I don't plan on goin' anywhere this time! -------------------- *END TRANSMISSION* |

Man, that was way back in the day...
I had been to the site a couple of times before this, but I didn't get involved until the following incident: New Years day, 2001, IIRC, the opening of CoN4; I happened to be playing through FFVI again, and was looking around for some rumors or something about it. I used google, have no idea what I searched for (prob something along the lines of "final fantasy 3 rumor"), and CoN4 came up as a hit. I clicked on it, saw that it had just BARELY "reopened", and was kinda drawn into it. I joined the forums abstractedly - as one of the first members there because of the new opening, and from then on, everything at the site just sorta clicked with me. -Phoenix |

ah, my tale as to how i got here is long. and boring, so play FF6 througth again while you read it, or just play GTA: Vice City.
When i first got an internet connection, i used google to search for an FF4 site, as i was having problems with that game then (still am!). i put the sirte into my favourties... a while later, i started registering on other forums (in my sig you will find the names of these forums, except Tauonline- i altered my CP cos the site was down for a week, and im not puttin the link back, cos ive run out of space for it. by the way, those forums are football (soccer) and warhammer 40k forums, so if niether of those intrest you, its a waste of time!) anyways, i remebered there were forums here, and registered. then, today, i found out that i scare rangers 51 . i found this out, cos i asked him to close a dead thread i made. theres possibly two reasons 1)- his name includes a major scottish football clubs name, Rangers FC. i am a st. mirren supporter, and, perhaps, some small part of the name 'rangers' fears the smaller scottish clubs or 2)- hes afraid of scotsmen. or 3)- hes terrified of people who cant count. so, er, why do i scare you anyway -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Anyway, I was looking for The Caves of Narshe, but a different site that I had seen. My story begins with that of my fifth grade year, 1997-98.
I met this kid name LeRoy, went to his house one day, and saw Final Fantast VII. I asked him what it was, he told me, let me play, and got me hooked on Final Fantasy and RPGs in general. In my seventh grade year in May 2000, I did a science fair project that got me to the state level. My parents were proud and decided to get me something: FFIII for the SNES. I was in heaven. I sat on my butt for about five hours a day (school interfered with gaming) for three weeks and finally beat it. By that time I was Final Fantasied out. The next year, 2001 and eighth grade, LeRoy happened to be at my house with his PlayStation and Final Fantasy. Just for fun, we decided to look for music from FFVIII. We got on the net, and using Netscape searched for FFVIII music. LeRoy was typing and accidentally typed "Final Fantasy III music" instead. About three links down, we saw one called "Caves of Narshe." We went in, looked at the Rumor Mill, got some music, and left. A couple weeks later, I was playing FFIII on the SNES, as I had no other systems, and decided to check out just what CoN had to offer. After searching "Caves of Narshe," I came back, looked on the message boards, registered, posted something stupid, and generally looked around. I came to know the staff. All I remeber about that time was that it was CoN 4, and everyone was talking about how it had just changed from CoN 3, and how they liked the new look. Hmmm.... Maybe I should have just given the short story. Oh well. -------------------- Charlie:Let's go to my house, sew a bunch of blankets together and make a circus tent! Gregg:That would probably make you mom snap... Me:Then we can collect all the Welcome Mats in uptown Butte, lump them together like an elephant, and charge people five bucks a ride! ::laughter:: -Art Club results |

The story of how I came to be involved with the CoN is a long one, so I won't post it, but you can check out the History featurte on CoN for the scoop.
BTW, J Man, ~gozaru is the very same Gozaru from the FF3MB back in the day. The one that used to never stop arguing with Beth. |

I was at school in study hall looking for an actual GOOD forum that wasn't blocked and this site poped up and I have been in ever since. I have gotten in plenty of trouble for removing the blocks at my school on this site...
