Once Halloween passes us by, please post a picture here of you decked out in your costume. Submitted for your approval, this is last year's pics from the Hamedo Clan.
There's me, the Hulk, accompanied by my darling wife, the "doctor". ![]() Then there's my daughter Brielle, starring as a ladybug. ![]() Then there's the costume I used for work during the day of Halloween.... Beefcake. ![]() And finally, as an added bonus, a drunk Hulk kicking some 1950's teen slasher film's werewolf's punk ass. ![]() Alright, there's a few to get everyone started! This Halloween, post your pics of you and your family and friends in their costumes on here, and let's see how wierd the CoN community really is. ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

ZH, why didn't you dress up?
I'm not too big on Halloween, sure candy is great, but to go around in the cold to talk to strangers and get candy that you don't really get to choose isn't my idea of a good time. I went out to eat instead. Great pictures, though. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

The meaning of Halloween changes when you grow up. When you're an adult, the holiday mean sthat you dress up in a silly/scary/sexy outfit to get attention, and drink yourself stupid. Plus you can legally go out in a mask and scare little kids all you want. Or lastly, it's an excuse for men who secretly want to cross-dress, but don't have the guts to do it any other day of the year and for women who want to wear lingerie in public.
Halloween is so much fun! Sorry I have no costume pics. This post has been edited by Jenny on 2nd November 2005 01:14 -------------------- The first duty in life is to assume a pose, and the second duty is...well, no one's found out yet. |

That about sums it up. I dressed up with a bunch of friends and went to I think three Halloween parties over the weekend. I didn't do any drinking, it was fun peoplewatching and going crazy in general. Oh, and my group was a pirate ninja, a zombie Elvis, MC Hammer, a cymbal monkey, and the eighth deadly sin: emo (basically dressing as emo as possible). Can anyone guess who I was? -------------------- |

although i don't have any pics, last year i was a drug dealer.
this year i was a twelve-year-old who didn't go trick or treating. creepy, eh? it turned out to be more fun giving out candy though. one kid took too much, so i pulled a butter knife on him. he thought it was real and ran like hell. ![]() -------------------- ADAEAFADAEAFAGAEAFAGAAAFAGAAABbAGAAAFAGAEAFADAEA C#ADAAABbGAAAFAGAEAFADAEAC#AFADAEAC#ADAAABbAGAA AEAFADAGAEAFADAEAC#AD |

Too bad I never have any Halloween pictures.
Me and a group of five friends went to a party, though. For the past few years we've gone with intentionally unusual costume themes; this year, for example, we dressed up as different unimportant, minor characters from various horror films. I went as Nancy's mother from the first Nightmare on Elm Street, complete with half a bottle of gin. ![]() -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. I sat in my dormroom. Some of the guys showed up for a few minutes. That was pretty much it. I had all this online homework crap due at 12:00. Afterwards, I walked around a little, but seriously everyone went to Madison to raise hell on State Street like every year. This year wasn't so bad there though i guess, they only had to teargas a few parts and nobody even died.

Quote (Tidu-who @ 3rd November 2005 03:14) Afterwards, I walked around a little, but seriously everyone went to Madison to raise hell on State Street like every year. One of the guys I worked with in Chicago wanted to go to Madison for the pre-Halloween Saturday night, but he bailed out. I didn't realize it was close enough to downtown to make it worth the while. Halloween weekend was my last weekend in Chicago, and I had my two best friends up from Springfield to hang out. We weren't planning on doing anything Halloweenish, had no costumes or anything, but by luck we stumbled in to my favorite downtown Chicago bar, a campy dueling piano place called Howl at the Moon. They went all out, with a big costume contest (won by a husband and wife playing "lesbian ballerinas"), and lots of Halloween and costume-inspired music. The wait staff was all in costume, one of them as Michael Jackson; naturally, he sang a few songs with the band, and when he got to "Thriller" the rest of the wait staff zombie-walked to the dance floor and did the zombie dance from the video. Later they did the Time Warp, but they always do that; the highlight of the evening was when the girl in the band broke out a fiddle and played a near-perfect "Devil Went Down to Georgia." -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

I like your Halloween story, Josh. The trouble with small town life is that there are no places like Howl at the Moon for adults to frequent. Sounds like you had a blast.

![]() There aren't enough pictures of people in costumes here! So instead of Halloween, I'll post a piture of Mario at the Calgary Stampede in 1992, along with a few kids in gawdawful late 80's poor people garb. I'm the oldest one on the left. Don't look the Mario in the eyes, kids....
Now that I think of it, we *do* have one place here in Franklin.... It's called Minnie's Down Under. It features live bands from Asheville on occasion, and usually has a party for things like Halloween and New Years. It's biggest drawback, though, is that it's one of those dives that makes you BYOB, and then you have to buy it BACK from the house, due to the stringent liquor laws here in Macon county. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

I know I'm 2 weeks late, but me and my wife just bought a scanner, and I want to show off our costumes a bit.
![]() Between the two of us, only spend $12-15 on our costumes (made bellbottoms from old pair of jeans, only thing we really paid for was the wigs, and my chops and soul patch) -------------------- "And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped” -Sir Bedevere the Wise |

Though I couldn't find a picture of me this halloween in my kilt, I did find pictures of me about a year or so ago, when my sis got married, with me wearing the kilt. So, add some time, make it nighttime, add a lot of hair (down past the shoulders), remove the dagger (damnable laws not allowing me to wear it), and Voila!, my costume at halloween.
![]() Second dude on the far right, or, second person to the right of the dude with the green mohawk. Yes, it is a great kilt (one piece of fabric, about 10 feet long). I really like that staff too. ![]() every part of that costume is mine: the brooch, the kilt, the shirt, the staff, the belt, and the boots. Though the Animal skin pouch was borrowed. ![]() and here I am tying my boots. You may also notice the dagger I mentioned earlier by now. That actually is my sisters, but she left it at my house when she moved out, and it matches a sword I have. The whole outfit cost more than $400, and counted towards my Birthday and X-mas presents from my parents (Yea, I didn't get presents from them that year)Ironically enough, I never won a costume contest at my school with this getup. (i hate my school, full of preppies and jocks, a place where popular people rule it, not a place for someone like me ![]() If i were just only Kefka, complete with the ray of judgement and insanity.
