Moderators, I apolgize in advance if it belongs in the regualar Tactics forum. I wasn't sure.

Out of anyone here thats played FFTA for GBA, what was your favorite Job, Race, and Ability? I didn't make this a poll as there were far too many options

My favorite race(s) were: Moogle and Viera
My favorite Jobs were: Ninja (ninjas are bad*** IMO), Assassin (just like ninjas), Gunner (best range), Sniper(status) Dragoon (dragoons are pretty cool too), and Blackmage (favorite class in any rpg). Monk was ok. Paladin was useful for the story.
My favorite ability: Double Sword (ninja only). Now I can learn abilities for most human jobs twice as fast!

Preferred Endgame Party Lineup:
Marche: Paladin/Fighter (either/or) (preferred abilities: Black Magic/HolyBlade, Double Sword, Counter) (equipped w/autolife ring)
Montblanc: Gunner (pa: Black Magic, Return Magic)
Ritz: Fencer/Redmage (equipped Ribbon)
Shara: Archer/Sniper (pa: Return fire) (equipped Ribbon)
Lini: Mog Knight OR a Bangaa: Monk/Dragoon (pa: dragonheart)
a Nu Mou: White mage (pa: Black Magic, Return Magic)

Just curious, as this is my favorite strategical game of all time

I have a lot of favorite Jobs and Abilities, so I'll post a couple for each race.

Jobs:

Human: Paladin, Thief, Ninja
Nu Mou: Alchemist, Sage, Morpher
Bangaa: Templar, Gladiator, Defender
Viera: Assassin, Sniper, Summoner
Moogle: Time Mage, Gadgeteer, Gunner

Races:

My favorite races were Bangaa and Nu Mou.

Bangaa: A lot of good abilities, and I'm basically a hack-and-slash guy. IMO, this race has some of the best jobs in the game.

Nu Mou: This race is perfect. A welcome addition to any party for me. And it also has my favorite job in it, Alchemist! Awesome abilities, and they look so cool too!

Humans were too flat for me, no job really caught my attention.

Viera were way overpowered. The game would be better with no Assassin, IMO. Don't get me wrong, its an awesome class, but Last Breath + Concentrate = Overpowered. I like challenging games.

Moogles, like Humans, were too bland. No really flashy job, and my the end of the game, I only had one Moogle in my party.

Abilities:

Human: Steal: Weapon, Holy Blade, Sidewinder
Bangaa: Haste, Speedbreak, Aura
Viera: Shadowbind, Aphonia, Death Sickle, Auto-Life
Nu Nou: Death, Bio, Drain
Moogle: All of Time Mage abilities, Stopshot, Chrome Gem

Quote
Shara: Archer/Sniper (pa: Return fire) (equipped Ribbon)
Lini: Mog Knight OR a Bangaa: Monk/Dragoon (pa: dragonheart)

Uhh, you can't have Ritz and Shara until you beat the final boss. So how can you have the at the end of the game? Unless, of course, you're counting the "end of the game" as every mission done and stuff.

I've yet to beat FFTA, but I am enjoying it. However, I don't like it near as much as FFT. B comparison, I find the story and character developement much, much weaker. All the same, it is still an interesting game with a few interesting innovations. Anyways...

My favorite race(s) were: Human and Viera
My favorite Jobs were: For me, it's all about the Fencer. I love that class dearly as they are pretty dang awesome. I just wish I could make Marche a fencer... Erm... And I do like soldiers and dragoons as well, the former having some useful skills.
My favorite ability: I enjoy any of the combo funtimes, Swarmstrike and... grr... that ranged Fencer attack, I forget what it's called.

Yea I know. What I meant by endgame was after you beat the final boss.

Favorite race human
favorite class: Ninja or Fighter
Favorite ability the fighter's main one, cant remember what it's called
fighters and ninjas were just awsome

even though i didn't like this game nearly as much as most of the FF's i still can't deny that ninjas are awsome

and for the game the fighter was a great class to be

if you asked me a lot of people woul've liked the game a lot more if it hadn't been for those stupid laws, i mean come on death in the origonal tactics rarely happened, and in advance i rarely had anybody ever get knocked out, and never for more than one round. The concept of the laws is stupid "don't use magic on tuesday the 31st, or else we'll lower your stats". and then to make matters worse they had two laws a day, then three. And to make the whole matter evev worse 'again' is that the concept of death worked the same as in the origonal tactics, making the fear of death pointless.the "law" system was horrible thumbdown.gif

See More (Total 9)
I've only played to meeting the first crystal, so I don't really know much about the game.

(However, I've read enough of it from the internet to be pretty sure I won't like the plot very much. Oh, how I hoped that the story would be one of liberation!)

Anyways, so far, things I like:

+the soundtrack. I haven't figured out why yet, but I love the soundtrack of this game. It probably involves the instrumentation, tonality, rhythm, and orchestration. Among my favorite tracks are Amber Valley (probably the favorite), Beyond the Wasteland, Difficult Battle (nice track, despite the lame name), The Road We Both Aim For, and Beyond the Wasteland.
+Ritz. I don't know what she ends up doing later in the game (I read a bit on it and I think I'll be disappointed), but I like her attitude, at least at the beginning. Forceful and justice-dealing, she defends the bullied Mewt in the schoolyard, and is a trustworthy friend of the other three main characters (Marche, Mewt, and Doned). Spoiler about Ritz:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
She should yell at her detractors "Cecil has white hair too!"

+the gameplay. I hadn't played FFTactics before, so this was my first experience with a tactical RPG. Grid-based battling is FUN. Then there are those fun skills. It gets tiring after a while trying to optimize weapons and equipment choices on each character, and keeping track of that, but the fun value overcomes that easily. Whereas I can say that I actually like the plot of FFV, along with the music and the gameplay, FFTA is definitely a game whose plot I don't really have interest in (from what I've heard) but which I enjoy almost solely for gameplay and music.

Viera -Assasin
-Summoner (Try using Eldena or anyone else with doublecast)
- Sniper with Aim equipt (For boost and Burial)

Human -Paladin with Ninja Doublesword. (Awsome for Marche)
- Fighter

Bangaa -Dragoon (Ah those sweet memories of Kain)

Moogle -Moogle Knights (Lini especialy)
- Black Mage with Animist, or Gunner with Black Mage (Best for Montblanc)

Nou Mou -White mage, or Alchemist with White Mage Abilities
- Sages. Always the Sages.

My favorate Races are likely the Viera and Moogle, though for offense you can't beat a Human, Especialy a beefed up Marche Paladin. Ouch.
