Aside from the years I've spent playing video games, I have also been involved with community theatre, as It has been a big part of my Mother's and Sister's life.
It started when I was 4 and trying to follow my mommy. I somehow ended up on stage and sung the alphabet. another year passes, and I'm the caroling boy in an xmas carol. I walk out there and hold a sign. I see scrooge and run. There used to be a giant scroll that quoted part of the book, and I tripped over it. A few years past and I have a major speaking part in "That Madcap Moon" in 7th grade. It took place at the end of WWII, and I had fun with it, even wrote an essay on it at school. After that I did a 2-line part in "Bleacher Bums" I walked on, said 2 lines, then walked off. sat in the front row of the audience and threw a ball up onto the stage towards the end. The downside, parts of my past I want to forget: The Calaveras Children's Repartory Theater calls upon my assistance twice, once to use me as a stage manager (they called me in 2 dress rehersals before the performance, not enought time to memorize the show). They move me to raffle tickets, and I said screw you (not to their face). My girlfriend asks for assistance with a play, and I said yes without realizing it was the CCRP again. Not only am I miserable once again, but its for an extended time, I can't back out because I ahve a major speaking part in it, and 2 weeks before showtime my Girlfriend breaks up with me. [On the plus side I got a bowler hat out of it.] I found out they did lots of crap to my older sister as well, and took a vow never to do another thing with them again. I also think both shows were violations of Disney Copyright. Now I am in an Improv performance, similar to Whose Line. Unfortunatley It lasts only 4 nights, the last 2 being this weekend. But the important thing is i had lots of fun. Have any of you performed int theater at all before? -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

Rock on, buddy. Yeah, the theatre certainly has its ups and downs.
I've been performing in the theatre since age 5 where I started in The Wizard of Oz as the lead munchkin in the Lollypop Guild. It was with the Huron County Playhouse in Southwestern Ontario, and I made $50, since they're a professional level theatre - on that note, I've never been paid since lol. I didn't do anything else until I moved to Ottawa and did community theatre from age 8 to University. Now I'm in my third year of studying theatre at the university of Ottawa and enjoying it immensly. I just recently did a play called The Women by Clare Booth Luce with The Drama Guild at Ottawa U. (one of our various theatre groups) and I played two women in it. Let me tell you, it was a learning experience, as I am certainly not a pretty woman by any means, but apparently played it well, despite being huge (us 6 ft. tall men don't make petite femmes.) All the same, a great learning experience to expand upon my acting versatility with. I also do musicals too, and did one in the summer called Bye-Bye Bytown here in Ottawa, which was fantastic. I'll be auditioning in a few weeks for Jesus Christ Superstar, so here's hoping I land myself a good part in that. I miss my singing as I've had to take a bit of a break from it due to The Women. So, in summary, I too love and participate in the theatre. One of these days I hope to make the transition into film and continue with my love acting in a stable career. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! It's mostly my older sister who is the theatre buff. But, to her annoyance when we were kids, I did join a summer theatre group with her and performed in a play.
![]() I was also in a theatre arts class in high school, which I loved. Taught by my favourite english teacher, we did two plays, writing one of them (the other was 12 Angry Men. My sister played the person who has to convince the other lawyers that the boy could be innocent). For one play, I was just the prompt (that's the correct word for it, right? The person who stands just barely in hiding and gives lines when needed?), and for the other I played a smaller role in a murder mystery. My favourite part of theatre is being a supporting role. It's fun to be a part of the writing of the script, and choosing costumes, applying makeup, etc. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

i have been in two official plays, but not recently since i had to decide if i wanted to return to wrestling(after a major injury), and if i did i wouldnt really have time for plays
i wish wrestling wasn't such a time consuming sport but to the point the two plays i have been in are oklahoma (got the role of Ali Hackem) it's a very fun role to have, no singing, and you're the comic relief then i was in little shop o' horrors (got the role of Orin Scrivello DDS) another fun role, let me tell you nothing is greater than playing a sadistic dentist, who has an over-inflated ego, it's just fun -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I was never much of a theatre geek, but my high school was rife with theatre geeks. There was one musical, two Shakespeare shows, one non-Shakespeare comedy, one non-Shakespeare drama, and one "Knight of One Axe" show every year (a collection of three or four one act plays).
I played for two pit orchestras - Kismet my sophomore year and West Side Story my senior year. I was basically doing it with a bunch of my marching band friends, so I had a good time. Kismet was less fun, mostly because of a VERY autocratic section leader, but I don't regret doing it either year. I also was convinced by some of my friends involved in theatre to try out for a part in the Knight of One Axe my senior year and won it - I played "Ken" in a play called Check, Please, which every high school and their mother has shown sometime or another. It was actually really fun, more fun than I expected. One Axe is one production where TONS of non-theater people try out and get involved, so I wasn't the only newb. My directors and the rest of the cast were really supportive and it was an awesome experience in general. I totally recommend giving an audition a shot, it was a lot of fun for me. -------------------- |

I can't say I ever really did "official theatre" at least not to my recollection but I do remember in 3rd grade I was in the highest reading level (which I believe was 5th grade level or 6th grade) and we did a play, and then in high school I was in the ever popular and overly done "Our Town" playing a small part and then I directed a murder mystery called "The Butler Did It" and yes the Butler actually did do it but she was more of a maid than a butler. I should have picked a better script.
