But how would they utulize the touchpad and dual screen if they did this?
Besides, if they did this, they would probably make it 3D, consequently pissing off many FF fanboys/girls. Oh God. I just thought of something. What is they CHANGE THE MUSIC? They better not do too much tweaking to the soundtrack. -------------------- |

I hear that they are going to remove Aria De Mezzo Carattere from the game due to the ‘awkward’ sound of the synthesized vocals.
EDIT: Not really. I just wanted to see how people would react to that. This post has been edited by ThroneofDravaris on 3rd December 2005 13:39 -------------------- |

Quote (ThroneofDravaris @ 1st December 2005 09:01) I hear that they are going to remove Aria De Mezzo Carattere from the game due to the ‘awkward’ sound of the synthesized vocals. And where exactly did you hear that? Unless it was from an official source (say, Square-Enix making the statement directly), then I highly doubt that's the case. Aria Di Mezzo Carattere is an extremely popular song in the series, and it wouldn't makes any sense to remove it. They left it intact in the PSX port, so why not in a GBA port? The worst that'll likely happen is they'll make it sound terrible like they did to the entirety of FFV's soundtrack on the PSX (and I sorely hope they correct that mistake in the GBA version of that game). 'Sides, if they were to remove the aria from the opera sequence, that would cut out Celes'/Maria's big solo scene. That's a very important part in the game - not to mention a minigame of sorts - as it not only presents a climactic moment during that portion of the game and is the staple of the four sections and songs of the opera's first act, but it also links to the future relationship between Celes and Locke and, in a way, introduces Celes' theme that's only played later for the first time (the short, piano-esque, nonvocal version of Aria Di Mezzo Carattere). If Square truly cared at all 'bout the vocals sounding awkward, they'd simply redo that bit. I'm sure they'd have no problem getting Nobuo's permission to do so if it meant otherwise potentially facing the removal of a song from what he's stated as one of his favorite game compositions. But like I said, it doesn't seem very logical to touch the soundtrack at all. Y'know, it'd be great if they could insert the fully orchestrated, Italian version of the aria there, like the one from the Grand Finale soundtrack or the two More Friends concert performances (I think the latter one is in Italian, although I've never heard that version. I really wish they'd have played it at the Dear Friends concert I saw). Course, the GBA wouldn't allow that, but it'd be a nifty idea if there's ever another future rerelease/remake. Yes; Final Fantasy IV Advance is coming out on the 12th of this month.
FFV Advance and FFVI Advance don't have release dates yet, but they're supposedly due out early next year. As in either sometime near the end of the fourth quarter or the beginning of the first. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. Aaaand meanwhile you clearly edited the post AFTER Silverfork's (edits are dated, you know) to hastily cover your butt. Anyway. I suspect FF6A will have fewer improvements over FF4A, for the simple reason that FF6 is packed a-full of treats already. Silverfork's post meant that no one else was going to respond in the same way that Wind God Gau did, so I gave up. Do you think I should have waited longer? I did wait for 2 whole days… And what exactly would I be covering my 'butt' from anyway? I hope they seriously stick to the original script, you know like keep the 'sexual humour that the japanese have but we dont' in, such as the edited Siren pic and stuff. -------------------- The frosty one. |

Quote (Snowman) I'm sure he meant it to be a harmless joke really... Joke or not, it's sorta common sense not to do it; there's no point and all it serves is to mislead people. If it's accidental, that's different. Anyway, end of that. Quote (bad andy) It's Dec.12 for sure? Yes; Dec. 12th, for sure. But remember, that's for FFIV Advance, not VI. Just to prevent any potential confusion... Its release date has also been mentioned in several articles in the News forum, so it's been confirmed for a few months. As for a European date, that has yet to be announced. Last I checked, a concrete release date for Japan hadn't even been mentioned. Things I want to see in the FFVI port on GBA:
1- New translation with completely restored language (Ted Woosley's translation was very watered down) and the correct character, spell, and equipment names. 2- A higher difficulty than the original since it is almost as easy as Mystic Quest/FF USA ![]() 3- New dungeon with special bosses such as new Phantom Beasts/Espers 4- The soundtrack to not be too decimated. This looks quite hopeful because FFIV's sound on GBA is better than it was on the original snes and psx releases. -------------------- Kefka: Then I'll destroy those too. After the pleasure of IV Advance, I am quite stoked for the coming of VI Advance for sure. As for new things in the remake...
Things we'll probably see include Evade and MBlock being fixed and working correctly along with other glitch fixes, a retranslated script, a decked out bestiary, and a bonus dungeon or two. Speaking of the script, if I&II and IV Advance were any indication, they'll probably keep some of the more infamous lines, such as Kefka's "Son of a submariner!" comment. Of course, that might not be the case, but it probably will be. As for the bonus dungeon(s) I have this inkling that it may include a Soul of Rebirth type-thing with Leo. Just an inkling, though. A difficulty increase would be nice, too, but that probably won't come. Some of the music will probably be borked as well. Still, I am looking quite forward to its release. I have a feeling it's going to be great. ![]() -------------------- Giggidy giggidy giggidy! All riiight! :D FFVIA Progress Report: Game completed, Dragon's Den cleared.
