I forget which dungeon you have the best chance of running into ninjas that will throw Chirijiraden at you is. I remember there being a topic similar to this at one point, or perhaps it's simply mentioned in another one. Also, is there anywhere where you can have things like excalibur and chaos blades thrown at you, and is there any way to improve success rate of them throwing? perhaps casting don't move on them over and over and staying just in their throw range?

Ninjas are found most frequent in HORROR, although, off the top of my head, you can also run into them in TIGER.

And to get knight swords and rare unbuyables thrown at you, your characters need to be a high enough level that the average level of the enemy ninja are 90+. A high-leveled ninja throws balls and shurikens, too, but, depending on the random "Throw" abilities they have learned, you can also get some of the better goodies. For instance, if you wanted a Masamune thrown at you, there is a strict guideline the enemy has fall into to even have a chance at throwing it (Lv. 92 female ninja w/ Knife known).

And yes, casting status effects on them greatly improve your chances of getting things thrown at you; or, rather, improves the chances of them throwing things at you instead of using their secondaries. Since all of the ninja you fight at that high a level will have Black Costumes and Thief Hats, you'll have to go in and break/steal said equipment to impair them with the better status effects.

A good method is to find a ninja who throws good things and kill all the other enemies on the map. Then, cast Berserk, Don't Move, and Darkness on them so that have no choice but to use the only option available. Beowulf is unmistakably the best choice for his long-range status-inflicting, but having a few Ying-Yangers on hand helps out as well.

Basically, divide, conquer, and then take all the gifts they give to you. tongue.gif

I didn't think there was a way to see what skills enemies have learned... is there a way?

There isn't, which makes the process that much more difficult. It's hard enough finding a certain ninja at a certain level, but when they have to know a certain skill and have the rare item in their inventory, that's pushing the limits of probability. It took me eighty-eight hours to get a second Masamune, for instance, while others have been drowned in 'em (non-duped) with Catch.

It takes patience.
