Wow, that's an awesome drawing. The only thing that i can see wrong is that the arm closest to you seems to be jutting out a bit.

Jutting out.. howah..? I guess you'll clarify.
At any rate, it's from Final Fantasy Tactics. Delita and Princess Ovelia Possible spoilers: highlight to view in the final scene of the game. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Delita: Here you are... everybody's been looking for you. (Delita takes a bouquet of flowers from behind his back.) Today's your birthday, right? These flowers... (Ovelia quickly rushes to Delita and hugs him tightly, crying) O... Ovelia..? Ovelia: You use everybody like that! Now, you'll kill me just like Ramza...! (Delita takes a dagger from his side and plunges it into Ovelia. She falls down, dead. Delita staggers back, breathing heavily. As he drops his dagger, he walks towards a corner of the ruins and drops to his knees.) Delita: Ramza... What did you get? I... -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Greg |

Maybe i looked at it awkwardly, but the shoulder looked like it was going directly down and to me it seemed like she had two elbows, but i think i just looked at it in a funny way.

Lovely! Except I must clarify.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Ovelia doesn't "hug" him. She stabs him. Trust me on this one, as I watched the scene about a dozen times to make sure. She stabs him, and then he stabs her back. -------------------- Some ghost of me might greet my son the day he is delivered. Eternal Sleep, Track 1-1: The Blue Planet |

I think you captured Delita's "angry eyes" pretty well, and it definately looks like he's walking around with a grudge. Ovelia looks pretty well, too...kind of pious, forgiving, humbling...nice contrast. Scenery of the church ruins sets it off well. Are you going to draw any other FFT stills?

It's actually more reminiscent of an earlier cutscene. That's what I initial thought when I learned the two figures were Delita and Ovelia.
As for the actual artwork, all in all, I likes I gots a few gripes, though: Ovelia: The back of her jaw shouldn't go past her ear. It's a minor flaw, really, but, for me at least, it's still pretty significant (it bothered me). Also, and I hate to say this, but when I look at Ovelia, I don't feel as if I looking at a young woman so much as a young boy. There are certain details that I like to add to women, such as more apparent lips and eyelashes, that help to differentiate them from the men. It doesn't help, I think, that the jaw seems to suggest the pudgier cheeks of a young child. Also, where's the rest of her hair? Delita: Only real gripe I have here is that it looks like he has crow's feet on his eyes; makes him look much older than he actually is...that's jest me, though. -------------------- |

I think the background on this is pretty good. Especially the grass.
You did a good job on the characters. They look kind of old, but I'm not really sure what age they are supposed to be at that point. Also the coloring is nicely done. I won't bother pointing out any flaws. I think thats been covered. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

I get that a lot with this from FFT fans, that they look 'old.' But in my defence, firstly, my style's a bit more realistic so there'll be some more aging detail and such. Anime sorta' has the habit of making everyone look young, thus you really can never tell.
Plus, the ages of people in FFT is rather relative to how much time you put into levelling lol. But yes, Delita does look a tad haggard. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Greg |

Plus the fact that all of the FFT character portraits lack noses could definately (and probably does) knock a few years off of the aesthetic age. I'm no connoisseur of art or anything, but the perspective is great (like you're watching from behind a rock) and the people's faces are understandably "ripened" towards the emotional outlook. Like I said somewhere up there, Ovelia looks really down-hearted and Delita looks really silent but tumultuous.
The backdrop rocks, too...kind of a blurred-sunshine thing going on? By the way, is this supposed to be the earlier scene or the very late scene where they meet in the church ruins? -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

It's gotta' be the ending scene, no? Very nicely done on this one. The constructive criticism and high points have all been issued, so no need for me to add anything. The impression I'm getting from it is that Ovelia is pouring her heart and soul out to Delita, and Delita is refusing to show Ovelia that her love for him is mutual as he prepares to unsheath his sword (or ready to punch anything out of anger).
Delita exhibits anger and frustration over hardship, while Ovelia's face bears sorrow and looks for comfort in the arms of the man that she loves. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Yeah, it's basically my interpretation of the final scene in the game.
