OK, I'm trying to get Auron and Yuna to break the damage limit in FFX. Auron will still break the damage limit with a normal attack if the Break Damage Limit ability is on his armor, right? Cuz I mean, he's been doing 9999 damage with his regular attack for a very long time...
Possible spoilers: highlight to view And I think that Braska's Final Aeon would be a lot easier to defeat if I could exceed the Damage Limit!!! ...so... if the ability is on his armor, it still works, right? Sorry if this is a stupid question. -------------------- Yami no kanata Hikari no todokanu hate ni Ima mo hitori Kodoku na tabi o tsuzuketeiru |

The break damage limit ability can't be put on armour. The break hp limit can, which allows your health to go over 9999.

Auron's celestial weapon is one of the easiest to get in the game, and, like the other ultimate weapons, it allows him to break the damage limit once it's fully unlocked. I definitely recommend getting that together.
(Yuna's weapon is also very easy. Rikku's takes a side quest, but it's an easy side quest. Lulu's is time-consuming but not impossible. Kimahri's and Tidus' involve difficult mini-games. Wakka's is a blitzball prize.) Gamefaqs.com has some good guides on exactly how to get all of these weapons, as well as advice for putting good armor together. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

Is it worth it to go around bribing Dark Matter off of enemies, or should I just go for the Celestial Weapons? I mean, I don't have the Celestial Mirror or whatever you call it, but I probably could end up trying that out. I'll really only need Yuna's and Auron's, though, because they're the only people doing 9999 damage at this point. -------------------- Yami no kanata Hikari no todokanu hate ni Ima mo hitori Kodoku na tabi o tsuzuketeiru |

Forget Dark Matter. It really isn't worth it. A lot of people insist that the ultimate weapons are overrated, but I don't. Each of them is an excellent, ready-made, cool-looking weapon with loads of useful special abilities, and crazy **** like bribing for Dark Matter is simply too time-consuming to make building better weapons than the seven ultimates a waste of time.

In addition, the Ultimate Weapons can pierce through defense*, something which customized weapons can never do.

Go with the Celestial Weapons the piercing makes all the difference and plus who can u bribe Dark matter off? could somone tell me im looking to make ribbon. I think the reasons some people think the Celestial Weapons are overatted is because some have the double ap ability and eventuly its not needed and seen as a waste as a slot but you cant really put anything into them to make up for the piercing and the cool looks. All and all go for Celestial Weapons, Yuna and Aurons are the easiest to optain to full power in my opinion. GOOD LUCK

The Ribbon armor ability is only in the international version(s) of FFX. Don't know where to Bribe it; I usually just fight Original Creations and win them as drops. Probably not the fastest way to go...

i no this does'nt go over the damage limit but you could mix a Dark matter with a door of tomorrow to make all your attacks do 9999 damage, even yuna's rod! and it lasts till they die as well

with aurons weapon, make him on really low health, then watch the damage you can inflict with him shoot up

Here's some other ideas to do with armor though...
1) Get a bunch of all the elemental gems and you can make "Phantom" armors that absorb the 4 elements. 2) Get an armor that has Triple AP, Triple Overdrive and Overdrive -> AP. Set this character's overdrive mode to Stoic and unequip any weapon that has Break Damage Limit. Finally, go to the arena and fight a Don Tonberry and only attack with this character. When he/she dies, revive him/her and attack again. When you finally win the battle, watch your sphere levels go up. You can also allow your other party members to take advantage of this by equipping them with the same armor and switching their overdrive to Ally. (I think this is the one where the overdrive gauge goes up if allies take damage) 3) I believe the ultimate armor for each person though has Auto-Haste, Auto-Regen, Auto-Protect, and Auto-Shell. The stuff for these abilities are expensive and hard to come by so you might want to notice the stuff that Nemesis and other arena creations drop when they die. -------------------- "Knowledge is power. That's your entire armor just to absorb elemental attacks? You can accomplish the same with Auto-Potion and a stock of x-potions--you'll heal all the damage you take. 3) Auto-Regen is not as nice as Auto-Potion. The amount you're going to regen in most battles just won't be worth it by the time you win, and the longer battles usually require more healing than you're going to get out of regen. Also, consider Auto-Phoenix. Auto-Phoenix will eliminate the need to keep everyone in auto-life (except in cases when an attack will take out the entire party) and free up turns to do something other than ressurection. Auto-Shell isn't exactly bad, but keep in mind that it reduces the effectiveness of your healing magic, which always irritates me. Quote 2) Get an armor that has Triple AP, Triple Overdrive and Overdrive -> AP. This is the set up for the cheapest leveling ever, but the execution is flawed. Get three characters with those abilities on their weapons (yes, they're weapon abilities, not armor) and forget about breaking the damage limit. Choose a person like Tidus (who probably has a lot of kills) and set their OD mode to stoic; put the other two people on the mode that increases their OD when their allies take damage. Now fight Don Tonberry, attacking only with the person whose OD is set to stoic, and instead of leveling just one person, you'll level all three. You can make it go a lot faster by giving two people armor with Auto-Phoenix as well, so everyone will always get revived without having to use a turn.

Quote Get three characters with those abilities on their weapons (yes, they're weapon abilities, not armor) I stand corrected. The phantom armor you can develop fairly early in the game taking care of many of the pesky creatures that use elemental magic. As you level up and build up magic defense, you won't really need this any more. I just keep these things around as more of a trophy than anything at this point. Quote Auto-Regen is not as nice as Auto-Potion Personal preference. I just find that not having to worry about having potions in stock. Now that I think about it though, I sacked the use of Auto-Shell for the Break HP Limit ability. Quote i personally never get Aurons. I only get Caladbolg and Nirvana, they are the best out of all or them in my oppinion. but getting the Sun sigil is a b**** I had the hardest time with trying to get Lulu's stuff together. It takes an insane amount of concentration to dodge 200 consecutive lightning bolts. It also pisses you off when you get to about 190 and you get hit by one. That happened to me and I stopped playing the game because of that for about a month. -------------------- "Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard; be evil." |

You need to visit the altar place in macalania woods. Follow the silvery light path up into the tree canopy and approach the altar. You'll be able to charge up the celestial weapon.
