No fair Googling, though I don't know if that would help or not. I'm at 22 correct right now. OK, I managed to remember two more this morning. That brings me to 24, and I think I'm probably about done. I've only gotten 9, on inspection. No googling or otherwise cheating. (Spoiler lists what I've gotten.)
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Metroid, Batman, Kirby's Adventure, Castlevania II, River City Ransom, Ice Climber, Metal Gear, Mario Bros., Duck Hunt I'd love to see how I'd do if this were a quiz on SNES games, though... I got a measley 12/40 with no cheating.
The ones I remembered were (from lowest number to highest number): Possible spoilers: highlight to view Mario Bros, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Werewolf: The Last Warrior, Duck Hunt, Battletoads (it took me a long time to figure out this one!), Shadowgate (I saw that skeleton a lot.....), Kickle Cubicle (this one came out of the blue as one game I rented long ago), Kirby's Adventure, River City Ransom (heh.... we can see his ass), Willow (never played it but read the Nintendo Power article on it), Cobra Triangle (one of my fav. NES games), and Batman 28 and 38 are a complete mystery to me Oh and I could have sworn that Possible spoilers: highlight to view 15 was NARC With 3 and 4, it seems like I've seen them before... -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" 16/40. Almost half. Not bad I don't think.
I got 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 23, 25, 27, 29, 38, 39 right. I SHOULD know 7 and 21... I'm almost positive I owned them, though their names won't come to me at 1 AM. ![]() 14, 26, 30, 33, and 35 also look familliar, though I can't place them -------------------- "And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped” -Sir Bedevere the Wise |

Without cheating, I'm at 16 outta 40. Number 3's gonna bug me till I remember just what it is, as it comes off as the most familiar outta the ones I can't yet name.
The ones I've figured out (WARNING - titles and corresponding numbers to follow): Possible spoilers: highlight to view 4 - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link 5 - Mario Bros. 7 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 10 - Werewolf: The Last Warrior 11 - Contra 12 - Duck Hunt 15 - Metal Gear 16 - Ice Climber 17 - Battletoads 19 - Shadowgate 23 - Kirby's Adventure 25 - River City Ransom 29 - Willow 31 - Pro Wrestling (can't forget the infamous "A Winner Is You!" line) 36 - Batman 38 - Metroid Aside from #3, the name of the first one is on the tip of my tongue... -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. I managed to get seven, but it probably should have been eight, since for some reason they wouldn't accept Castlevania II: Simon's Quest when I was positive that it was either one of the nighttime forests from there or the last castle walls area from Dracula's curse....

I've gotten 22/40 so far....I'm a little disapointed in myself actually...
There are about 4 of them I recognize the screen from but can't remember the game name. I guess I should just congratulate myself for recognizing Possible spoilers: highlight to view and leave it at that.Kabuki Quantum Fighter That game was awesome btw. The ones I'm missing...although I'm reluctant to admit some of these... 1,3,6,8,10,13,14,18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26,32, 33, 34, 35, 37. I'm thinking we should all work on it for another day or so and then just see if we can collectively get them all as a group. We have to be close to having them all among us, but I haven't read the replies too closely.

R51 and I are tied at 25, he's got a couple I don't have too. I find that unacceptable. His ego is already too large for him to win this.

well screw it, i was able to get 28 alone, and i have filled out 29 in total, but for most of the rest i just don't have a damn clue, for and the ones that are vaguely familar, i can't produce any results. i have: 2-5, 7-13, 15-17, 19, 20, 23-26, 29-32, 35-38, and 40. 6 and 34 look sort of familar, i'm 99% certain i've played 14, but i can't think of the name, and 21 looks kind of like it could be out of a certain series of games i am familiar with, but none of the titles work.
i'm pretty sure i'm done; i still want to have the full list, so i would be willing to trade answers with someone, or just flat-out collaborate with someone else who has many answers. edit: up to 29 alone, 2 with help (6, 27 added). Possible spoilers: highlight to view I'll only add the ones I have here, that no one above has listed: 2. Gradius 13. Mach Rider 26. Solar Jetman 30. Ninja Gaiden 35. Track & Field II 39. Wizards and Warriors 3 Dunno if that helps you but, when you've managed to get the whole list, I'd love to hear it. ^^`` This post has been edited by Mu the Squirrel on 16th September 2005 03:17 -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

Considering I'm only 15, I think I did well for myself. ( I can't believe I can't get 5)
So my list is: Possible spoilers: highlight to view Mario Bros. Contra, Duck Hunt, Ice Climber, Battletoads, Kirby's Adventure, River City Ransom, Metroid. I Know Ive seen 38 before... Edit (Aha! 38 came to me while eating lunch at school. I knew I'd seen that dot before.) 5 11 12 16 17 23 25 38 So that makes 8. I'm going to enlist help from my peers. Hahah unbeknowest to me ya'll were getting extras while I was studiously looking at the page. I came up w/ 3 more on my own after playing with names a little, realizing that a certain familiar one was a sequel and remembering the name of a certain HORRIBLE NINJA.
Anyway, I made it to 25 on my own and now I'm gonna start looking at what you guys have offered up and see how close to complete we are. Possible spoilers: highlight to view SOLAR JETMAN!!!! I could not for the life of me remember the name of that awesome game although I recognized the screen. Huge congratulations on getting that one Mu. Track & Field II.....how cheap...I didn't even realize they made a sequel. Adding in what others have found, i'm now at 28, I believe. Would someone less lazy than I like to start compiling a list? Added Note Possible spoilers: highlight to view Although it looks like an atomic explosion, I could swear 33 is a picture of the world tree from faxanadu. But it won't take faxanadu, so maybe i'm spelling it wrong???? I ended up getting 30, and R51 got 29, combined we got 32 out of the 40.
We still can't figure out 8, 14, 21, 22, 24, 28, 33, and 34. That's not too shabby in my opinion. ![]() Edit Oh yeah, I have finally defeated R51 at something. I feel like a man now. Edit Thanks Mu, I can't believe that I couldn't place that one. I used to play it constantly. Does someone want to post all the answers we have so far, such so that we can all work together on this?
Just make sure it's in spoiler form. I have the following: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 3. Castlevania II, 5. Mario Bros., 12. Duck Hunt, 15. Metal Gear, 16. Ice Climber, 23. Kirby's Adventure, 25. River City Ransom, 36. Batman, 38. Metroid 9 so far. Looking through the thread, it looks like Kame's answers add: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 7. Ninja Turtles, 10. Werewolf, 19. Shadowgate, 20. Kickle Cubicle, 29. Willow, and I can't place her Battletoads and Cobra Triangle. We're up to 14. Adding SilverFork's responses, we get: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 4. Zelda II, 11. Contra, 17. Battletoads, 31. Pro Wrestling Now we have 18. The Ancient has one game that I can't place (it's spoilered in his post). Mu the Squirrel adds: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 2. Gradius, 13. Mach Rider, 26. Solar Jetman, 30. Ninja Gaiden, 35. Track & Field II, 39. Wizards & Warriors III We now have 24. Saileboat adds #6, giving 25: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 6. Guardian Legend Mu then adds #24, giving 26: Possible spoilers: highlight to view 24. Double Dragon II And by deduction, I have been able to place The Ancient's and Kame's other games. That makes 28 so far. Possible spoilers: highlight to view 40. Kabuki Quantum Fighter, 32. Cobra Triangle This post has been edited by Glenn Magus Harvey on 20th September 2005 07:08 -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing.
