Everybody knows how nintendo ventured into tv, with Super mario show and zelda cartoons, and then into movies with the mario movie. We also know about Doom, FFVII, and many more based on games too.
My question is, what nintendo, or non-nintendo too i guess, games would you like to be made into a movie. I believe Metroid, Tales of Symphonia or tales games, Zelda, FFVI, and another mario movie w/waluigi, wario, and better graphics all have possibilities. What about you? The zelda and mario cartoons sucked.
The characters were drawn badly, and had bad voice-acting aswell, also the story did the games no justice, id prefer that games stayed games This post has been edited by Ganolink on 3rd December 2006 15:43 -------------------- All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. I absolutely loved the Zelda cartoon when I was a kid, and I still like it--I got the DVD set last year. Same goes for the Mario Bros. movie; I realize that everyone else hates it, but I (still) think it's hilarious.
I'd like to see another Zelda cartoon as long as they didn't revert to Windwaker-style animation (and everything that I'm sure would go along with it). I like Link as an older teenager, not an ugly little misfit. I'd go see a Zelda movie if they made one, even though I'm sure it would suck. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

I've always been fond of a Zelda movie, and possibly a Metroid one. I can't really say I'd like a Tales game to be turned into one, because most of the movie would be a repeat of the games. I can agree with another Mario Bros. movie, since I loved the first one they made, just couldn't really understand most of the whole plotline, like the Goombas??? WTF???

Is anybody else here looking forward to the Halo movie? The game has a really neat storyline, and if the movie is tasteful like Halo (and unlike Doom), it should be very good. This is what comes to my mind. -------------------- Status: FF6 -- Finished! Yeah! BDZ, i've heard romurs of a halo movie being made somewhere at sometime.
To stay on topic i'd love to see a any nintendo game on the big screen, even if it did suck. FFVI whould be awesome if they did it like they did lord of the rings. -------------------- "You know that feeling you get when you're on a merry go 'round, and you want to jump off to make the spinning stop, but you know it'll suck when you land? Do oldies count? XD Maniac Mansion then! I dunno whether it'd be achievable, but it surely would be hillarious ^^
Devil May Cry? Metal Gear? They have movie potential, but I'm not sure they'd cut it. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. I used to love the Zelda and Mario cartoons as well as the Captain Nintendo cartoons. I would love to see a FFVI movie as that is my favorite FF but I am scared that it would be like that disaster like the Final Fantasy movie. I would not want to see a Zelda movie because whoever they get to play Link, that is who I will think of when I think of Link which is a reason I am glad they haven't given Link a voice yet in games cause without a voice, you can't be disappointed in the voice actor of Link like I have been with other characters (I am looking at you Tidus).

I think the only two game movies that were good were Mortal Kombat and Mario Bros. And even then, they didn't really do justice to the series. However the one video game series that can be flawlessly translated into a movie is MGS, and they're actually doing that right now.

Well... maybe the movies were good, and the danish translation and voice actors made it look worse than it is. I still didnt like the drawing, and how they changed stuff in the storyline.
Also, i didnt like the lame obsession with zelda link has, i mean for christs sake, if they wanted to add a love relationship between zelda and link, could they atleast have link act a little more mature, and a little less ''kiss me, i just carried out my own laundry'' -------------------- All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. A metroid movie. The special effects would be grand, but the acting/story line would be sure to suck. Plus, mainstream media porobably wouldn't go see "Metroid", as the very name seems to have more of a sci-fi pull.

Super Mario RPG Movie! Animated or non-animated it'd still be cool. But if it was animated it would probably be a kiddy film. But think about it, a guy made out of a cloud, a "doll" which we all know it's really a Action Figure, and 100's of turtle shells with popsicle sticks sticking out!

Metroid is a potential disaster, or a complete success. Just imagine a movie where your space ship suffered malfunctions and you were force to land on a unknown planet. Once there you discovered that space pirates that you have been hunting your whole life are planning something terrible with a tought to be extinct alien race. All goes wrong and the Metroids kill everyone and now are after Samus, the plot would be survival through the entire movie, waiting for a repair and rescue team to arrive.
The same goes for Zelda, it has the potential to become an epic trilogy just like Lord of the Rings. The problem is the unknown timelines of Zelda's story. If done wrong, Zelda could be a disaster and ruin the series forever, or it can further boost it's popularity by been a hit in Hollywood. I have always tought about the possibilties of this two franchises becoming movies. They have all the potential to do well and be succesful, but history has taught us that it has never been this way. Nintendo movies have sucked each and everytime one is released. Zelda and Metroid are my favorite 'to become' movies, but there are others, sometimes not so popular in the gaming world, that have even more potential to be good movies. To name a couple, Metal Gear Solid and Chrono Trigger, well they are popular what the hell am I talking about?!! Anyway, let's hope that if one of them were to ever become a movie, that they are done right so the franchise doesn't get hurt. Since both of these games teased us with anime cutscenes, I would have to say Chrono Trigger and Suikoden III. Of course I would want them to be anime movies.

Crono Trigger, for sure. One of you said it already, but i think that the teasers they showed looked excillant. the only problem would be giving Crono dialog, hense something to say

There was actually an anime-type show made for Tales of Phantasia, it was only 4 episodes long (I think). I only got to see the first 5 minutes of the first episode, but I can all ready tell they cut out a lot. I think the same would apply if they made a movie directly from a game, a lot would have to be cut out and it just wouldn't be the same. Or it could be better. Who knows.
I personally think that Tales of Symphonia would make an awesome movie, especially if it was done in anime like the cutscenes. It would be quite long, but it would have the potential to be amazing. I also think that SMRPG would be a great movie. -------------------- Why, hello guys! Haven't been around here in a loooong time! http://dragcave.net/user/LadyTwi http://www.backloggery.com/ladytwi |

I'd like to see a Ninja Gaiden movie. Im sure it would be chock full of wire-fu and special fx.
