The others aren't worth sharing.
Basically me trying a new style of artwork with line thickness.
Sketched on smooth bristol then inked with sakura micron pens.
the coloured one was done with prismacolor and prang coloured pencils.

Wow, now I impressed. I've seen some of your other fanart and I don't think they're half as good as this showing. Nice! thumbup.gif

[EDIT] On another note, ye know when an artist's work is done right when it inspires other artists to make their own creations. Or maybe that's jest me, I don't know...at any rate, ye got me looking at me sketch book again, heh.

Ooh, very nice. I think I remember you saying you were trying to break away from the anime style, but I'm glad you haven't entirely. I think my only complaint is that in the last picture, her torso looks awfully long, and her legs look a little weird. I think it's the foreshortening.

But I don't think you were really seeking critique on the anatomy this post, so I'll shut up. The inking? Love it. Especially the thickness around the outline in the third picture. I usually use that technique myself in photoshop, but have never thought to try it with inking. How much do those Sakura pens go for? I'd like to pick up a set.

Not just you. smile.gif I've actually haven't been drawing lately, too busy playing in photoshop in preparation for college, but this is making me want to pick up a pencil and start sketching.

Sakura pens go for about 2.99 per pen.
You don't really need a set. I got one, and I find that I pretty much only use the 2 and the 3 from it, and then still had to go out and buy an 8.

And actually, if I ever said I was trying to break away from the Anime style, I'd have to be half dead or hopped up on sugar. It's here to stay. I hate drawing realism because I'm so bad at it.

Thank you very much for the crits. Her torso is stupidly long, but I didn't notice it in my sketch, so by the time I noticed it, the ink was on it.

Whenever I see that you started a thread in this section of the forums I always jup at it. Great pics, I saw the first two on DeviantArt, and the last one is nicely done as well. I'm still getting used to inking, I can't do straight lines, but when it comes to quick sketcy oekaki-like drawings, eh forget about it. I've been somewhat of a busy beaver mahself when it comes to drawing, mostly filling up my gallery at DeviantArt.

I am not going to comment on these at DA, since they're all fanart for things I have never seen. But your inking is really getting very, very good, and I just wanted to say that.

Very nice, Hikaroo. These so far are your BEST drawings so far. Keep it up, and by the way not to be a critic, but the eyebrows are overlapping the hair.. It's.. really unhealthy..

Those are really good! The last one is my favorite, which MIGHT be because she looks just like Reka from RPG World, but it's still very good nonetheless.

Definately likin' the new style, it's really cool.

Hikaroo, I really like what I've seen of your work so far. Each of these is drawn really well. I'm afraid I'm not much of an art critic, so I can't really be very specific about the style, but I love it nonetheless. Each of the characters is very distinct and I can imagine a different personality for each of them: the kind and caring intellectual, the absent minded beauty, the sassy girl (I like the last the best). They're all really good, and very appealing to the eye. Keep up the good work. thumbup.gif

If by really unhealthy, you mean really Anime, yes.

Look at almost any anime.
I bet 90% of them have the eyebrow overlapping..

Thank you all for your comments. It means a lot to me!
