FF or LOD?

i'm gonna have to say FF even though LoD is Good too

From the little that I have played of Legend of Dragoon, I didn't like the battle system too well, and, well, that's about all I can remember of it. From what I've heard and seen, it was just an average RPG. So my vote goes to Final Fantasy.
The poll options were a bit unfair, though. It's comparing an entire series to a single game. Perhaps you should compare Legend of Dragoon to one FF game, like FF7 or 8, instead of the entire series? That would be a little more fair for LoD. |

Shouldn't you give us your reasons for either option, then? Perhaps it'll make it easier to know what, exactly, the vote's based on.
That being said, I nulled my vote. While I quite like the FF series, I've played many RPGs that far outrank FF. But I've never played LoD, so, hey, can't really vote against something I don't know now, can I?  Still, there are many FFs, and no two are even remotely alike. Many people dislike FF8 and view it as a pretty bad RPG, whereas many people also worship FF6 and/or 7 like it's a god-send. LOD is one of my favorite RPGs. I loved the Addition system in battles, but I hated the Dragoon magic (with the exception of the Dragon summons). It was still a very fun and very entertaining game. However, it was far too easy once you got the Legend Casque and that other godly armor. I equipped Kongol with both (one halves all magic damage, the other halves all physical damage or something), and he couldn't die..ever. Not even on Faust.
...on the other hand, the Final Fantasy games have several of my all-time favorites (FFV, FFVI, and FFIV, of course). Therefore, I will hold out on my vote until the ambiguous options are made clear..if it's LOD vs ALL FF games, forget it, FF won. -------------------- Is PJ |

Well, this poll is kind of... unbalanced. In FF you have one of the most influential rpg series ever, with 20+ games to its name and several timeless classics to boot, five of which this very website is dedicated to. In LoD you have an okay PS1 rpg whose graphics, cinematics, and setting are its strongest selling points and is outclassed on virtually every front by a few FF games. Comparing a single game with a medium-sized cult following to one of the largest and most successful game series of all time doesn't make sense. I don't think LoD is a bad game, but most of the FF games I've played (ten of the numbered ones, plus six or seven others) are clearly better games. FF wins.

I null voted it seems unfair to compare a series to one game
it would have been more fair to clarify which ff especially since as silverlance stated FF has those who worship 6 and 7 and some who worship others -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

This is ridiculous. First of all, you're comparing an entire series to a single game. Apples and oranges, bub. Pick a specific game, or rephrase your question, or something. Secondly, the only way it's even a contest is if you name a game like FF8. LoD doesn't even come close to any of the games this site covers.
