I've been working on my own hack for FFvi
and so far i've completed several sprites

this is Cid from FFVII

I made Gau more like his amano art by giving him red eyes


and sprites of Tifa


tifa's menupic


The only ones that I can take credit for are Cid's sprites, Cid's menu pic, Sephiroths menupic, Gau's sprites, and Tifa's menu pic

the seph and tifa sprites i found somewhere else
*note i also changed tifa's eyes to red to make her look more like her nomura art*

I've also made several Item changes, and some bosses harder
but i won't reveal that until the hack is done

The cid sprites are my pride and joy, they worked out really well
also if you want the complete sprites (riding sprite and dead in battle sprites are not posted) just PM me

Those Cid sprites are truly great; they put a big geeky grin on my face . I like the menu pic very much also. Edgar with goggles and a cigarette? cool. I like the Amano Gau also.

Maybe you should try to put a tiny cat on Mog or Umaru's shoulders and make Cait Sith...

Though these are probably some of the best fan-made sprites I've seen, so I hope you won't begrudge me offering a bit of constructive criticism: Both Tifa's hair, and, to some extent, Cid's jacket could use alittle more shading.

Great job all the same, however.

The Cid and Tifa sprites are great, and it even took me a second to figure out who you based Cid's menu pic on. On the other hand, Tifa's menu pic looks awful--it's a horrible pose for the character, for one thing, and, for another, it's obviously just a badly recolored image of Celes--and the ones for Sephiroth don't even look like there were many obvious changes. Besides, didn't he have green eyes?

Umm.. Not bad. But you shouldn't show sprites in .JPEG or .jpg format because they'll ruin the quality. Next time, it is recommended to save it as .GIF or .PNG.

CID: He isn't bad Locke/Edgar/Sabin edit. Although he could use some shading in both the sprites and the portrait. On the portrait, it looks like the red part of the goggles could use an extra color or two. Same for the grey part.

TIFA: Hmm. Not a bad Celes edit.. But her portrait is just a recolor I like her colors on the sprites, though.. The boots should be red, btw. They aren't supposed to be blue.

SEPHIROTH: It's an ok Setzer edit.. Or should I say, Setzeroth? j/k
His eyes on the sprites and portrait don't relate to Sephiroth. They should be bright blue.

GAU: Just because of a red eye you want to show it to everyone?

BTW, they are ok. And for the portraits, I think you should use Tetsuya Nomura's FFVII portraits, even if the colors will turn out crappy.. But hey, you can use FFVI's portrait colors on them.. Good luck on your FFVI Hack.

I've been working on that, the problem is;
is that you have to change the palette
so I'm trying to alter these sprites without ruining the othe sprites in the game

they have too many colors on their pallete, you can't just simply put it in there

I agree, but for the time being thats the best versionI've got
some of my other attempts at
Tifa were worse

and as for Cait sith(mog) I am in the middle of that right now
but i believe that mog sprite is the same for the other moogles
and it wouldn't be cool to have a whole tribe of cait sith

I'll post when some of the pics of the updated tifa sprite, menu pic
and as for sephiroth, I agree with changing the eye color, but on his namura art his eyes are green, not blue

Also i've given up on the tifa sprite and gone in a completely different direction with celes

well actuall i've made quite a few changes locke has been changed to squall


i made clyde sprites but i used darker colors


and the cids sprites had to be altered slightly to fit in with the game



finally figured out what to do with celes, slight wardrobe change
and also i'm working on FF2's leon, but that's not a definate
and also I'm working on making a character into Cait sith
i won't say who, but it is most certainly not mog
and he won't be riding a toysaurus moogle
