I still have an SNES. My favourite games on it are:

Zelda: A Link to the Past (9/10)
Super Mario World (8/10)
Yoshi's Island (7/10)
The Secret of Mana (9/10)

Others, like Chrono Trigger and FF2/3, are probably easier to obtain on a playstation. I used to have them, but I sold them on eBay.

The other games I have are:

Super Mario All-Stars
Donkey Kong Country
Contra
Earthbound
Secret of Evermore
Illusion of Gaia
Soulblade (I think? I'm not digging through the box to look)
...and some others that I don't play very often.

SNES is my favorite system of all times. No joke. I love it.

You can't go wrong with the classics: FFIV, FFVI, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Legend of Zelda: LTTP, Super Mario All Stars, Earthbound, and, my personal favorite game, Robotrek. The Mega Man games (7, X, X-2, X-3) aren't bad, either. They're good for at least at few hours of entertainment. All of the games in the other posts are great, too, these are just some of my favs.

I grew up playing my SNES. I still have it after 10 years, and it's still my favorite system. There's been so many good games for the SNES, it's impossible to list them all off, but depending on your tastes, I can suggest a few.

It's definately got a high ranking in my books. So many of my favorite games were on the SNES.

I'll limit my suggestions to just three games. There's so many good ones, though, that you could practically blindfold yourself and pick randomly out of a pile and come up with a good one. tongue.gif

You'll want to try Lagoon, I think. It's similar to the Legend of Zelda. Although I'd hesitate to say it's a great game, it's still one of my all time favorites. Something about it has always appealed to me. Perhaps it's the challenge level. It's a lot more difficult than other games I've played.

Another one to check out is Bahamut Lagoon. You won't find a cartridge of it, most likely, but it is one hell of a great game, and you can find a ROM on a simple google search. Definately a high-ranked strategy RPG.

Of course I can't let you go without getting you to think about Clay Fighters. It's always been one of my favorite fighting games simply because it's so different from others of the day. Imagine beating up your enemies with a blob of goo. biggrin.gif

The Super Nintendo has the highest concentration of my favorite games for it. Among them are Final Fantasy IIIus, Final Fantasy V, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid, and Super Mario Kart. Oh, and there's also Super Game Boy.

I have one, and it works (despite my mom having thrown it across the room), and I have SMW1, SMW2:YI, SMRPG, SMAllStars, DKC1, and MMX.

Who DOESN'T or DIDN'T own a Super Nintendo? tongue.gif Well, besides those who chose the Genesis over it. Luckily I had/have both. The SNES is definitely one of my favorite consoles, alongside the Atari 2600 (hey, shut up wink.gif ). I give it a perfect 10.

Most of my favorites, the ones I'd highly recommend, have already been listed, such as (in no order)...

- Final Fantasy VI (IIIus)
- Final Fantasy IV (IIus)
- Final Fantasy V (PSX only outside of Japan. Never released here originally)
- Bahamut Lagoon (Japan only. You can find a ROM or translated ROM)
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Super Mario RPG
- Super Mario World
- Yoshi's Island
- Super Mario Kart
- Mortal Kombat I & II
- Donkey Kong Country
- Chrono Trigger
- EarthBound
- Super Metroid

Some others I'd recommend that I don't think anyone in this topic has yet:

- StarFox
- Harvest Moon
- Live-A-Live (same deal as Bahamut Lagoon - find a ROM)
- Street Fighter II (my favorite of the Street Fighters)
- NBA Jam
- Zombies Ate My Neighbors

There're plenty more, I'm sure. I don't have the system currently hooked up, so I don't have the games outta the box so I can browse through 'em at the moment.

Ah, yes, Super Nintendo. I remember in 1991 I was this close *demonstrates small distance with thumb and forefinger* to getting a Genesis instead of an SNES. I was actually quite dissapointed when I got the SNES. For, you see, Sega was all the rage in my 'hood and I was slightly less cooler for my SNES. I am tres glad now. What would my early to late adolescence have been like without:

FFIV-VI, Chrono Trigger, SoM, The Mega Mans (or Men), Any Mario game out there but most definitely Cart and RPG, Harvest Moon (most beautifully addicting game ever. I mean, who ever thought that farm chores could be so enthralling?), Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, Super Techmo Bowl, Super Contra, Clay Fighters and Starfox (which I thought was the greatest game, graphics-wise, when it came out).

So, thanks mom and dad for getting the SNES. My childhood would have been filled to the brim with bad action games and more than my fair share of mediocre movie tie-ins without it (not that there weren't enough with it).

Put simply, the SNES was the Golden Age. It was one of the first, and the truly best. I'd rather play my SNES than a PS3, Rev, or 360 anyday. The SNES shined back it its day. That was when Nintendo was the true power, and everyone had a SNES. That little gray machine pumped out the best games ever made, and I'll never forget what it did for me. It made me a gamer, and gave me some of the best memories of my life.

I own over around 40 SNES games. My favs, however, are here:

1.) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
This game is, in total truth, my favorite game, ever. It's the ONLY flawless game ever made, and what gaming is about. I owe my gaming addiction to it, and I'm proud to say that not only have I beaten it hundreds of times, but I still play it today.

2.) Super Metroid
Absolutely amazing. A true masterpiece.

3.) Super Mario Kart
Hehehe, good times, good times...

4.) Star Fox
What can I say? It was fantasic.

5.) Super Mario World
Best. Mario. Game. Ever.

6.) Donkey Kong Country
Best. DK. Game. Ever.

7.) Super Mario Allstars
Greatness. Pure greatness.

Those 7 are just the ones I played the most. I love em all. Hehehe.

Over System Rating:
With all of the great games it had, including the best gamer I have ever played, there is no other score to give than 10/10. I wish I could go higher, but I can't. It was a magnificent system. I really miss those days, but it's nice to know that I can always go back and play those games whenever I want...
